Wow, this thread has been busy this morning!
Mellika, Sunnygirl and Csarina - it's great when you get a sympathetic GP. I know in the States they take it much more seriously but at least the GPs here are beginning to come round. My sister was diagnosed when she was in her late thirties but, when we thought about it, she has never been quite right since she was about 8 years old. Her GP tries various medications on her and will even try things my sister finds out about on the internet and so on.
Christabel - (((hugs))) to you. ME is a nasty condition.
R.Mac - can't wait to see some photos of Annabel Rose when you have time!
N9eav - apparently, we have two Friday 13ths each year and occasionally three, which will happen this year. The next time we'll have three will be in 2012, so you are forewarned! Well done to Mrs N9eav!
WannabeSybil - perhaps just going out for walk around the block, collecting leaves or something, will get you both out. If you start a nature table for Little Bear, you can collect all sorts of things like leaves, feathers, pine cones and so on and it will be an easy-to-do interest for him. Also, if you're in severe pain with your tooth, you can phone NHS Direct (0845 46 47) to find out where there's an emergency dentist, and your Primary Care Trust, who will give you the emergency dental helpline number for your area. They'll find an emergency appointment for you to get you out of pain.
Mrs Tittlemouse - you should get your hand looked at and check that your tetanus jabs are up to date.
Well, I'd better go and get on with something.

Morning everybody,
Cold here but neither raining or snowing....as I have lots of washing to do I think I might chance one load on the line, just things that are not needed urgently...
Good luck with the job application Halight and all who are seeking work at present...such a worry for families at present, OH and I feel so lucky that we are on pensions which will at worst stay the same.
N9eav...congratulations to OH on job...its all experience, even if not what she wants.
Nice to see you here Weezl
Sybil, get out for even half an hour, it won't do anyone's cold any harm...housework will still be there when LB goes to school.
Csarina...sorry that OH is still having dizzies...take care of you.
Hugs to all in need or want that I haven't mentioned....
Would really like to get out messing in the garden to-day, but going to city later so need to get myself organised for that....amazing that I did it every morning before 7.30 for fifteen years and now find it a big production!
Have a good day all

Good morning all! :hello:
Just a quicky from me at the moment, got to dash out, just wanted to say congrats to r mac :j and to give everyone a huge hug :grouphug:
I hate Friday the thirteenth. I'm not remotely superstitious, but I break a lot of things on this day every time it comes around. That's not just me being paranoid - it got so bad that my old job used to give me the day off, my boss said it worked out cheaper than paying for so many photocopier repairs:rotfl:
Anyway, must scoot, have a good day all xxxx0 -
Good morning everyone,
Well done to Mrs. N9eav on the new position.
Halight - Best of luck on the job interview.
We overslept by nearly an hour and a half this morning. Good thing DH sets the alarm for well before we really need to get up. Tossed his lunch together quickly and took Bree for her first walk of the day. And we still had time to sit and have a couple of coffee's before he left for work.
I did my daily clicks for the first time in ages this morning. Plus I had a couple of survey invitations. It didn't take very long to do either though.
I'm still not feeling that well today so will take it easy. I don't feel feverish at all and it was quite mild this morning and yet I just cannot get warm. I'm bundled up like an eskimo too. Perhaps that's to do with the exhaustion I'm feeling?
A small piece of beef brisket is thawed for our tea. I'm not sure what it's going to end up being yet but will figure it out when I get off the puter.
Lots of gentle hugs for everyone.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Hi everyone,
I haven't posted on the Daily Thread for such a long time I thought I would say hi.
I also had a bad nights' sleep - didn't get to sleep until after 3:30 in the end
Never one for wasting time! I ended up using the time to make an Old Style calendar incorporating the tips on the Alternative Calendar thread and have posted it onto the thread for download if anyone is interested. I am quite proud of it to be honest and hope it will be of use to some of the Oldstylers on here.
On the plus side today, I am having my hair done today!
Hope Friday 13th is a good day for everyone. Best wishes to everyone! Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Well, just after I posted my last post, little bear went to sleep. As it was desperately needed, I am not complaining. Going to try and force myself to take him out this afternoon, but the thought of it is quite difficult. I was doing okay but when we hit the bad weather I got out of the habit a bit. Just need to get into the habit!
I had left the chicken that I had simmered in the pan, thinking a freezing kitchen would be okay over night. However, for whatever reason, the chicken was lukewarm when I went to get it out, so I threw it away. It must have been warm overnight I didn't want food poisoning. By my reckoning that is around £4.50 lost. The whole kitchen smells of gorgeous cooked chicken, except that I sprinkled vinegar over to deter evil cat, and gave her inexpensive dolphin friendly non prescription tuna because with all the lovely smells then the vinegar she must have been suffering.
And dear heart emailed me to say that the extra banana loaves would have been eaten at work.
So far I have not had a happy day, but I don't think that it is due to the date.
I am feeling unreasonably despondent, but hope to post later to say how I have done something. Also, I am taking a bit of 'me' time as we are viewing houses on Saturday, evil cat goes to the vet on Sunday (which is a trauma that lasts all day) and dear heart is absolutely exhausted, so I will be a little short of 'me' time this weekend. I don't mind if it gets us to move house.
Hugs to all, especially those with poorlies or work problems.
MSD - hope you hear from Tristan soon.
Also, thank you for all the support, it means a lot and is a real help.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Hello all, I've jsut got back from school , I help out in ED class on Friday morning which I really enjoy. Talked about saving energy with the kids this morning, getting them to draw a poster for a comp, most of them ended up doing recycling rather than turning lights/taps off etc. Someone drew a dog poo bin on hers, not sure how you recycle that but there you go.......
Now I'm back I need to get bum in gear to do some house w*rk but dunno how much will get done. OH has been on hols for the last 2 weeks, between jobs, and he's really thrown my routine (what little there was) out. Someone somewhere on OS someone mentioned Chorebuster.net where you schedule all your chores and then assign them to different family members, they can get emails, or you can print off the schedule. I've done all that although I do all the chores:eek: but I've chosen to ignore them since then as I've not had chance to do them! I wanted something that had a bit of structure to it but not too rigid, i.e. bathroom every tuesday. I do follow the Flylady thread sometimes but what I liked about this one is you can define your own chores as sometimes the timing is not right on Flylady or not relevant to our house. I'm gonna give it a go but I might end up back with Flylady!!!
Lunch will be soon as I'm starving, hm veg soup and hm bread rolls I think
Dinner tonight will be bacon and tomato sauce with pasta and grated cheese, the kids love that!
right where's my list of chores............0 -
Essex Girl can I come to yours for lunch?
No snow here but a lovely flurry fell on me when I left Islington Tube Station on the way to the gig. Apparently quite a bit fell but it had all gone by the time it ended. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Hi All
Just popping on quickly to say hello. (((((((hugs)))))) to all who need them.
Sybil - Dont be too hard on yourself hun. As some of the others have suggested even a walk around the block with little bear would probably do you both the world of good. My mum is a firm believer with my little neice that fresh air makes her sleepy so maybe a quick walk will help with Little Bears naps as well.
Well this morning I have turned our kitchen into a bomb site! :rotfl: In my attempt to be oh so romantic I bought some silicone tray things in the shape of hearts. Though I would melt some chocolate and pour it in, let it harden and hey presto. Except I dropped a bowl of melted chocolate which proceeded to cover the kitchen floor and cupboards in suspicious looking brown stuff! HaHa! All cleaned now and moulds are in the fridge so fingers crossed they set. Have got to pop out to Mr A for a few bits and pieces and then when I come back I am going to attempt to make some heart shaped shortbread. This should be interesting as I have never made shortbread before!
Am trying to stay busy as my new meds are making me feel so ill. Kinda figure that by keeping myself busy I have less time to think about the fact that I think Im going to be sick!
Off to MIL and FIL for dinner tonight..............chore in itself! Ohhh that sounds nasty doesnt it. I didnt mean it to be but lets just say its hard work!
Hope you are all well. I will pop back later and let you know how the shortbread goes!
Linz xoxoxIts hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0
