So next week there will be no running round at ungodly hours of the morning and will have leisurely mornings and not getting dressed till dinner:rotfl: I hasten to add here the leisurely mornings and getting dressed at dinner is a vain hope as I have four kids but hey I can dream:rotfl:

MSD-I cant say you shouldnt worry but as they say good news travels fast and bad news travels even faster so I should imagine if anything bad had happened you would know by now

Weezl- I had a home birth with my ys and it was lovely. The midwives spent the time watching tv with hubby and supping brews:D They said it was the easiest birth they had ever attended.Hmmmm I can assure them it wasnt for me:rotfl:

Off shopping this morning but cant decide whether to go to Asda or nip to Blackburn Hmmm choices choices:rolleyes: .All the major cleaning and washing is done just a case of tidying and vacuuming. As its Friday its chips for tea.I cooked a beef roast last night and theres loads left so they can have that with chips, peas, carrots and veg.Not sure about pud yet as I have some cooked apple to use up

Right I'm off to have a shower and wake the little darlings

    Have a good day all

Good morning everyone :D Gosh, you are early birds!

I've been up a little while. OH asked for hard boiled eggs to pop in his lunch box today, so they are made and cooling as I type.

It a day off work today - nothing planned as yet, but it will be what I call a 'pottering
day'. Just doing what I fancy ... along with the odd job, like cleaning the kitchen floor.

Took a piece of belly pork out of the freezer last night, so we will be having that for dinner. Just need to give some thought to the veggies.

Have a lovely OS day everyone, with big (((hugs))) to those who need one.
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Good morning early birds :D

I've been up about an hour just having a surf on here in peace before the rabble get up ;)

No plans today apart from making dinner - stuffed baked potatoes & beans - and I'll make some leek & potato soup for lunch today/tomorrow. WM on its 2nd load, DW unloaded, kitchen wiped round.

Huggles to all who want/need one I'll catch up with you all later.

Good morning to everyone, we've had loads of rain, which has washed all our snow away. No more pretty snowlady left......bar a soggy hat and scarf I'll need to go out and pick of the grass!!

I'm glad it's Friday and the kids stop today for a weeks holiday. I am taking a couple of days off next week and thankfully grandparents will cover the days when I'm at work. It used to be a Fri/Mon holiday we had in February. But that has changed this year and they have added in service days on so we get a whole week off. It's funny how when you are a working parent, your view of school holidays change!! I work within school hours on a Mon-Fri basis which is great but still have to work those hours when kids are off!

I shouldn't moan, I have a job to go to!! and one which I really enjoy too!

I will wait till after school before I put a wash on and get uniforms done.
I hope you all have a good Friday, M x

Mellika - my youngest sister has Fibromyalgia; it's horrid, isn't it? She finds that not all GPs take it seriously but, since she moved to Lincolnshire a couple of years ago, her new GP is brilliant and will do anything to help. She found it hard to come to terms with when it was first diagnosed, but is currently doing an art degree course at her local college. They have set up a workstation for her own use as well as provided her with a 'buddie' to help her on the days when she needs to use her wheelchair. Her GP said that Fibromyalgia might not be life-threatening but it is certainly life-changing, and she is so relieved that he is interested in the condition and wants to help. I hope you are getting the same sort of help.

It's great that your sister is getting help. Just the fact they believe her is huge. I've had it since I was 8 but only got diagnosed at 19. I spent over 10 years in and out of the doctors' surgeries. They said, 'growing pains' they said, 'hormones', they said 'stress'.
Well at least they came close on the last one!
I moved here (UK) 3 years ago and my first GP was very dismissive and he even tried to make out that I was just lazy. Thankfully the second one listened to me and asked me a few questions which were spot-on. I didn't realise all the different symptoms could be part of the same thing!
Now I've been with this GP for nearly 3 years, she's amazing, I moved town only 2 months after getting her but still don't dare change GP's in case my next one is less sympathetic :(
It's a very hard condition to live with, especially when you're young (I'm 22). People just don't believe you're in so much pain, or they think because you're young you just CAN'T be. Most of my OH's family and even my own don't believe me at all!
We can only hope it becomes more well known (like ME) and then perhaps people will be more understanding....
Anyway, sorry for long post, it's just so amazing to find someone who knows what I'm talking about! :o

    Morning peeps

just been outside and the weather is a bit warmer, the snow is starting to melt. The weather forecast has changed again and now says no snow at all but i no longer trust it

I fell asleep on the sofa last night but i slept really well, i missed the end of waking the dead - BOO!! but i did manage a good seven hours sleep which is unheard of for me, i`m full of beans now and intend to make the most of being off today.

I woke up with all 3 animals here, both houndies and little cat, only MrSunny is absent as he made it to bed. I have lots of jobs lined up for later but have no idea what time he went to bed so i shall leave it until later to wake him and make a start in the kitchen.

The dw needs emptying and the wm isn`t finished yet as i wasn`t awake to switch it on when the economy7 kicked it so i put it on this morning, the bm didn`t go on either as i plan on making bread rolls today as we didn`t need another loaf. I`ve bookmarked a couple of recipes over the week so i shall have a look through to see which ones i shall make. Ooh - almost forgot, i bought a lovely oakham chicken yesterday so i shall cook that later and make some nice stock and soup from the carcass.

I think that today will be rather busy :D

I`m off to dance into the kitchen and put the radio on, have a lovely day everyone. Keep safe and warm.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

My best friend was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in November last year after years of accepting that she was tired & in pain with varying things. Our GP (we share the same practice) have all been fabulous. She's not on any medication yet as they wanted a 3 month baseline assesment but has been told that there's plenty of tablets to control the symptoms which are most troublesome. They seem to be lack of sleep, tiredness, back pain & headaches at the moment. I feel for her as she is a dog groomer by trade which involves a lot of bending, stretching & standing. She's looking for a sitting down job now which will help.

Have you had a look on the Benefits Board on here? There's a thread about fibro on it, we found it when she was first diagnosed. Good luck with it all.
  • Morning everyone,

Sons have a teacher training day today so they're still in bed. OH is going to the dentist later so he's sitting here wondering why he didn't stay in bed longer (he's usually gone by this time). Dd has school but she doesn't need to get up for another half hour.

Must bake some bread and make pate today. I have 300g of pig's liver and 300g of belly pork from my Well Thrifty box of organic meat. I thought the best thing would be pate. We can have it for lunch tomorrow.

Have loads of ironing and laundry to do too.

Yesterday I made 24 pink fairy cakes for the school Valentine's day cake sale. Well, 12 for school and 12 for us. I used 4 different shades of pink and topped each one with a couple of pink jelly beans. They look pretty but are very gooey-not sure how I'm going to carry them to school.

Supper tonight is either fishcakes or fish pie made with smoked haddock and leftover mash form last night.
  • Morning all,

Friday again, woo-hoo! First essay handed in yesterday too, just 1 more & a dissertation to go.... Nearly there now - think I will sleep through the summer :)

Taking some left-over pork/onion/apple & creme fraiche in for lunch today, and am going to put on some stewing steak chili con carne style in the SC before I go. I've been fancying chili for a few days, but didn't want it with mince, I wanted big chunks of meat!

N9eav, great news that Mrs N9eav has got some regular work for now.
MSD, ((hugs)) to you & Tristan (and his family). Sticky ginger cake??? Is that like Jamaica Ginger Cake?? I NEED the recipe..... Lol at NooNoo as well, hopefully that will make Mudgekin smile if she just visualises that every time the SIL is about...!
Kathy, hope the work comes through from the quotes for your DH
Sunnyday, what a lovely thought of you dancing off into your kitchen :)

Work/placement today, mainly out & about - which I know I like, but don't have the energy right this minute. I'll be fine once I'm up & moving. Glad it's the weekend though.

Thinking of all my OS friends & ((((((hugs))))))) for those having tough times, or worrying about friends/relatives, or just feeling poorly or sad....
