Might I say that being civil and without the need of insults makes this forum a much better place to be. I know some might think that I come across as an old begger, well I am, lol, but of late I have seen an increase in "nastiness" which in my old fashioned way I find it not only detracts from the debate but at times it is down right uncalled for.

As a little aside I wonder, if my above observation is correct, we are all to a degree suffering from "credit crunch" anxiety. Imho, no matter what our various circumstances are, none of us is totally immune from this downturn.

    I totally agree with you!

Out of interest, do you think it helps if third-parties get involved in tiffs between forum members, or do you think it makes things worse?

I asked a certain forum member to 'please stop arguing and to try and get back on topic' and suddenly I was 'set upon' by three forum members (the person I aimed my comments at and two 'friends') and ended up embroiled in an argument myself.

I certainly wished I'd kept my beak out of it and let them get on with it. Where do you stand on this?

  • I think Really2 thinks Wooskter is me...some subtle clues led me to this conclusion.

Until we spend a few weeks demonstrating our different styles - which DD has graciously owned up to noticing between me and !!!!!!? - I cannot prove I am not Wookster.

I can understand why Really2 might get the idea, from my occasional support of Wookster.

But, as "just because you are paranoid does not mean they are out to get you" might be said, so the opposite can also apply - if I could work out the triple negatives.

so "just because you are not paranoid does mean that they are not out to get you"...

    Erm...I think.

I also feel very sorry for anyone who is having difficulties at this time. Been there, done that last decade. When I think that my £58k mortgage, with the endowment, went to just under £800 per month in the early 90`s no wonder I was in a state of permanent anxiety.

I think having first hand experience made me more concerned about the housing market as early as the start of the 2000s. I could not understand the rate of the assent and except from one or two people it was impossible to discuss, being bombarded with the " it`s different this time" and all the other mantras.

It could only end in tears.

Yesterday I was staying at a mates pub and during the evening a couple, in their 70`s came in and started chatting. They were saying that they had, I think, 5 properties, all mortgaged, and how good the interest rates were.

Later in the convo they told me that their crowning glory was a £750,000 sea front property they had bought. It seems that it took months for them to raise the finance. I asked what year they bought it. They said 2007!!!! I said goodnight!

We should start a thread to discuss who we think is who. In my time I have been accused of being Realy, Really, Really2, chucky, StevieJ, brodders, mewbie.. in fact to save time, I have been accused of being anyone who is new and does not tow the 'party line' of being totally depressing and revelling in the misfortunes of others.

I'd love to know who else I am.

DD, you are most likely correct about third parties getting involved in other peoples rifts. I fully accept that I have done so in the past and, as in the recent thread regarding NDG it escalates, goes totally off topic and helps no one. I was one of those people to blame and regret it now.

To Tell you the truth if that was all wookster and others had said I would not have started this post.

It was the anouncing of putting on ignore that made me think it was you (you had said this about me befoe a couple of times)

But if posters just find your posts when you are talking to somone else and start on you it is hard to make out you are not being paranoid. (especialy now most of wooksters have been deleted by the mods)

I don't know what you have against me CF perhaps you should make that clear to me so I do not feel you are wookster.

Lol!!!! On a serious note though it is clear that certain people are clearly using multiple log ins. I wished it could be stopped.

DD, why oh why can`t with have a more threads like the one we had some months ago? Do you recall? It ended up in totally surrealistic humour. It was the house price forum to the tune of the money saving old style forum. It was the funniest and most inventive thread ever!

I always regret when I allow myself to be dragged into arguments with 2 members of this forum (has anyone noticed that I only argue with 2 people?). I feel that I end up looking just as bad as them. As you are well aware ;) I have put one of them on Ignore and will ignore any non-topic digs from the other (he does post some interesting stuff and my Ignore is reserved for idiots with nothing interesting to say). Though as I'm sure you're aware, it is sometimes very hard to ignore digs, especially when you're being misrepresented, as I seem to be on a daily basis. :)
