Is transport included from any area to any camp site? We live south east but the closest camps to us aren't doing the courses the twins would want to do
    From the site:
There are 24 Do it 4 Real departure points across England. Departure points in the north of England will offer transport to summer camps in the north. Departure points in the south will offer transport to camps in the south. The Birmingham departure point will offer transport to north and south camps.
My eldest daughter went on a similar camp (A.T.E Superweeks) with the same sort of offer when she was 9 and loved it. Hoping to get her onto one of these now :T

well we work and we cant afford to send our boy - bit unfair if you ask me should be the same price for everybody!!!!
no kids should get special treatment just because their parents dont work

I can't afford to take my kids to Florida. I know which I would prefer!!!
    ;)
  • I'm 18 now..went on the Lights, Camera, Action camp in Howarth when I was 15, had an amazing week, would certainly recommend.

The nearest pick up to me was Preston bus station if that helps anyone, we then got taken to a big warehouse where everyone split up onto coaches headed to their camp.

"The whole reason Do it 4 real was set up by the Youth Hostel Association was to give a holiday to disadvantage kids, low income families, looked after children, children with disabilities, young carers who wouldn't normally be able to go on holiday. It is subsidised by the National Lottery for this reason."

I've got vouchers through Clubcard and the forms to apply. My girls are really up for it, and we're ready to send off the forms today. But, just one thing... it's not one of those schemes that they send naughty (as in criminally naughty) children to, as a reward, is it? I want to know that it's not going to be full of feral youths before I send mine off there on their own. I want them to have a nice time and meet some lovely new friends.

farley95 explained that the camps were set up for children from various disadvantaged groups. Being disadvantaged does not make a child 'feral'.

Our daughter got a place on her first choice of camp- thank you so much Op.

She's not had the time & energy she's deserved over the last two years, not through any fault of her own, but because of one of her siblings. It will be a fantastic way to reward her good behaviour during a tough time for the whole family :)

I did not suggest they were (it was quite clear that I had seen that children from different backgrounds are encouraged to go, and that is why I asked). I specifically asked if they send criminals there. Is it wrong for me not to want my children to mix with criminals (even if they are children themselves)?

Perhaps you just like to take offence?

No, I didn't say that you did. I very clearly responded to themaccas, not you.

Perhaps you should learn to read? :p
