  • Afternoon all :hello: just like Moggins and Tru, this morning I met up with
a(nother) friend I made on this site. Dee pm'd me a couple of years ago as she noticed from a post of mine that we lived in same town. We arranged to meet and when we came face to face realised we already knew each other by sight! We have been good friends ever since. In true MSE style came home with 3 bags of shopping having spent very little money.
It is snowing again in South Yorkshire but nothing too serious yet. Twink thank you for the photos, I'm glad I'm not where you are though!
Hester there is pride in working and being paid for it, whatever the work. Hope your OH ignores the family critics.
Nice to see Sybil posting and keeping us up to date
Rmac is keeping us in suspense!
Mudgekin ……….. and breathe. Seriously though I think they have a real cheek and I know I wouldn’t be able to bite my tongue.
Marie you do have a way with words “picture but no sound” creased me!
Hugs to those who are feeling sad, worried or poorly and furry purrs to the pets. Keep warm and safe folks.

Peyton I had that the other week.Sat in for several days as was expecting 8 parcels. went to shop to get milk at 4pm not expecting post that late... back literally 5 mins later he'd been. Luckily I managed to grab the card and go out and flag him down and picked up the 5 he had for me..
I'm glad you caught yours. I'm beginning to think ours watches until I leave and then rings our buzzer. :rotfl: Redelivery is scheduled for Saturday as it's not worth walking up into the town to pick it up.
    Take the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
    Just take the first step.

  • Hi All,

sorry I dropped off the face of the earth for a bit there. Everything fine with me just been going ten to the dozen:rolleyes:
Funeral went well last week and was actually a 'nice' upbeat event which is exactly what my Aunt would have wanted. Still can't believe she is gone though.
Weekend with OH's and my folks was a roaring success. Both parents got on really well, think it was the mutual respect for rugby and alcohol...:rotfl:
Had a lovely Monday off work and OH took me snowboarding at Glenshee. IT WAS FAB! First time in about 5 years that I have done it and it all came flooding back to me. Was a super day and OH was very proud of his woman!lol
Anyway been full steam ahead with work and house buying. Going to see a place tonight and OH is seeing 5 places tomorrow:eek: :j Not really had time for internet so I am very sorry I missed the chat.

Does anyone know if r.mac has popped yet?? Had visions of her going into labour after the horrific Scotland rugby performance on Sunday:confused:

Hugs to all in need, Diva & JackieO also hugs to Sybill's Little Bear with his green nose!

Edinburgh is damp, snowy and cold..how rubbish...

OS SC Casserole for tea tonight and then some cheeky Ben & Jerrys ice cream!

    Love to all xx

Edit: Twink, those are cracking pictures, my folks live in the borders and it's like that there just now. I want to go sledging!

    Afternoon All :rotfl:
:grouphug: Twink, Pixie, and all others up in the frozen North. I will not comment on our weather, I don't think I dare:rolleyes: .

WS - no one expects LO's to sit still immediately, what is hoped that they do sit for a minute or two, and watch and learn from the older ones to do so in the fullness of time. Just imagine tomorrow we are walking down to M&T with you and you are not on your own. Go for it.

Hester well done on DH's work, all his rellies was is a low paid guffer on call when they think they can use him. On your job front, maybe cos you had to take a day or two off with your shoulder recently, the teacher(s) were worried how on earth to cope if you went off ill for longer. You need to keep a time sheet of what you do and record you are working longer than you should.

Bedding done and dried on the line, that is the extent of OS for today, eating out tonight at the local bar/restaurant where there is a guy singing/playing 60/70/80's music.

    Take care

After two lectures, a singing lesson, and two hours of walking, I'm pooped!

Still have rehearsals to go to tonight so I'm resisiting the urge to sleep, but it's proving very difficult, especially now I've eaten something....

*huuuuuuuuuuuuuuugs* to anybody who needs one, I know I do:rolleyes:

    Afternoon peeps

the weather has changed yet again and it`s now snowing quite heavily and settling:eek: Twink - your photos are lovely, looked like that around here a few days ago, everytime that i look at the forecast it`s changed again

I shall have a nice hot shower to warm up and then tootle off into the kitchen, paella and garlic bread for tea tonight maybe jam sponge for pud with custard and nutmeg.

Both houndies are fast asleep and monster cat has seen the snow and gone back upstairs, poor thing she loves to be in the garden but has only been out once in the last two weeks so she is a bit fed up. Maybe this is why the Tom and Jerry situation has arisen.

The postie has been this morning and i have the cd that i have been waiting for from Amazon, i tried to cancel it after seeing that it was on offer at Asda for £3 cheaper but it was too late as it had been dispatched already. I`ve not bought any music for myself for over a year so it`s a nice treat.

Hester - Ignore the people who think that cleaning is beneath them, hubby is bringing money in and working which is what counts, i also know people with this attitude and frankly it stinks.

Sistercas - Hope that you are feeling better this afternoon, keep warm.

    Have a good evening folks.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Hello there everyone!

Hope you're all having a good day? Mine's been hectic, but they're better that way than not! I've got a meeting at 7.30 tonight as well, so it's all go.

Had a lovely meal out last night! Black pudding croquette with pureed carrot and bacon as a starter, followed by a chicken supreme with a haggis neeps and tattie stack topped with carrot shavings and then a delish raspberry meringue with cranachan and raspberry coulis. Excellent company to go along with the lovely food.

Think it'll be pasta for tea tonight, so back to normal now ;)

Hope you all have a good evening!

Picture but no sound this am from OH...we had a silly tiff last night and he is feeling sorry for himself...he will get over it and apologise at some stage but the silence is lovely at present!

OMG :rotfl: :rotfl: this sooo describes my OH, I fell about laughing when I read this, B****y brilliant :T

Had a good day, got in and had a hot bath as its really cold here now, although not as cold as Twink  thanks for the photos.

Sybil, go for it at mums and toddlers tomorrow, as Donny said just imagine we are all walking down the street with you, a formidable sight for anyone :D

Hugs to all in need, have good evenings all xx

    Sybil

Good luck tomorrow - we will all be with you (you'll have your own invisible army of OSers waving Stardrops and microfibre cloths!)

    Hester

Well done to your OH - if his family sneer maybe point out that at least the school will not cheat him and actually pay him for what he does.

Had really thrifty day using up stuff and trying recipes.

Found a pack of red lentils that I bought for 45 pence and made about 4 litres of lentil soup in the slow cooker and then a 2lb loaf tin full of lentil pate.

Also made a Sandwich loaf in the Panny which turned out really well.

Made impossible pie for the first time and might have overcooked it a bit but it was perfectly acceptable when covered in custard!;)

Tea was sausages, mash and gravy and nice and warming for DDs coming out of the snow.

I am so pleased that I have loads of bits and bats in the fridge, freezer and cupboards which means I do not have to go out when it is snowing heavily.

DD(19) phoned from Newcastle between lectures to say Hello and tell me her boots (which I insisted on buying her a couple of months ago) are keeping her feet nice and dry and the soles grip really well so she is not slipping and sliding about. She is coming home in two weeks for her birhday - Yippee!:j

Hugs to everyone and see you later

Aargh the best laid plans and all that! Dave's cousin and missis aren't coming down 'til some time this weekend now (they're currently in Grimsby visiting with the rest of Dave's Dad's family). This is good in that I have more time to prepare for them, but it also means I have to cook after all now - they were going to take us out - and right now I can't get my head to decide what to cook. Most of my meals rely on me defrosting something or other, which I haven't done. Oooops! I have some thin turkey steaks in the freezer that I think will defrost fairly quickly, so hopefully we'll have tacos.
