Mudgekin - how irritating for you. We had friends like that who turned up for practically every meal! They had converted a boat and were living on it (as it turned out later, to hide from creditors!). They used to boast about their life on a boat and how they could never go back to living in a house like the rest of us, but they were always in our house, eating our meals. It was when they just assumed they would be staying with us over Christmas that I lost the plot. I just told them in no uncertain terms where they could stick their boat - we never heard from them again. They left the area because they had run out of friends. I often wonder who they are conning now! Good luck to your DH.

Well, I should be drying my hair so I'd better go and do that. I just sat here while I was combing it out. I'll drop back in when I have my next coffee break!

Busy day today! Work this morning including a sharps training course for us all.

Got to make a nappy cake for a baby shower on Sunday but still need a few bits. May have to take Mum shopping with me this afternoon. Love her to bits but at 80 she's still a shopaholic and it takes 3 times as long!!

Then tonight it's WI Panto rehearsal.

Porridge for breakfast, ?? for lunch and pork steaks for tea. Any suggestions what to have with them?

    Must dash!!

    ((Hugs)) to everyone!!

I would strongly advise anyone not to buy the 94p hair dyes from Tesco! I had quite a bit of grey on top and apparently my roots now look ginger, my son informed me as at 6'1" he is quite able to see them.

Just going to wash my hair and have a quick tidy up and then I am off out for coffee, and I'm looking forward to it as well ;)

    Have a peaceful day everyone.

Sistercas - hope you start feeling better soon.

Kazzaw - I remember doing the sharps course!

Patentgirl - congratulations on your good news but sorry to hear about DH being redundant. It's happening everywhere, isn't it?

For now, both my sons' jobs are OK; they're both engineers. DIL1 and DIL2 are both teachers. DIL2 was waiting for her contract to be made permanent but then thought that had gone out of the window when she announced she was pregnant, but she's just learned that she is now permanent. It's just my DH's work that is drying up - or rather he's being offered such low money, it's just not worth it. Still, we survived the last recession - although it was nothing like this one.

Good luck to all those who are waiting to hear if their jobs are safe, or who have been made redundant and are looking for work. Fingers crossed for all.

Well, my coffee has been drunk so time to start my own work.

    See you later.

    Morning peeps! :hello:

JackieO: :grouphug: I'm thinking of you and your family at this terrible time.
Sybil: Hope you're still lurking, your friends here all miss you xxx
Hester: Doing an honest day's work to support yourself and your family is the most noble thing anyone can do. My OH's got a family like that too. The only way I've found to deal with them is to ignore them entirely. Make sure he knows how proud you are of him ;)
Tru: When Dave was first learning that being OS sometimes meant not spending money even though he wanted to (goodness knows he found it a hard concept to get to grips with:rolleyes:) had a rule we call WIGIG - when it's gone, it's gone! We deal cash only, and if Dave went out and bought 'bits' like that I'd serve him beans on toast for a few days running. When he moaned about it I'd point out that if he went off spending money that was earmarked for other things, I'd have to cut back in other places. I did this even if I did have a bit squirrelled away ;) Now he has admitted that he's not very good with money and he only keeps hold of his dicretionary money, turning the other household money over to me. It works for us, but I know that's not the answer for everyone.
Mudgekin: I have a few friends who are piddle-takers too. I've found after lots of good advice from people here that the only way of dealing with them really is to tell it them straight! If it happens again don't let them in, just say, sorry, we're about to sit down for a family meal and there's not enough to go round. Why don't you call first next time to make sure it's convenient. And grit your teeth and smile as you say it! :D

I've got such a busy day today! I've got to do some Avon work (one of my reps told me last night that she'd like to become a sales leader, so I need to train her) plus I've got to get things sorted out for Dave's Aussie cousin visiting. I haven't got a clue whee they're going to sleep or what they're going to eat yet! Never mind, I'll get it sorted. Dave is so excited, bless his heart, when he was half-asleep this morning he even asked me if the call had actually happened or whether it had been a dream! :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a good day, take care xxx

Morning all................(((((((((((((((((.HUGS))))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

OH had a bad day again yesterday went to bed in the afternoon for 2 hours and retired at 9.45 with another dizzy spell, I do wish the hospital would hurry up, I am getting very depressed by it all, it's almost 8 months since all this started and we still do not know what is going on!!!

Its bright but very cold here, I have turned the heating up a bit, the sitting room was decidedly chilly when I can through....OH still asleep..........at least I got a better nights sleep.

Waiting in for a delivery today by courier. Not a lot planned might make a carrot cake....or some fairy cakes, finished the hot cross buns yesterday. Still knitting the last hat.....even getting fed up with knitting just now.

I must try and get to the allotment, the kitchen waste bucket is very full and heavy, we still have some brussles on the stalk could do with them for the weekend...........not buying veg today when the veg man comes, just a bit of fruit. I got spuds from Aldi when I was in, cauli's were 99p so bought cabbage instead.

I do not know whats is wrong with the key board on this stupid lap top, I type things in and only half the word appears,

I have just had to make 3 corrections to my post as words did not appear or were truncated.
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
