    Morning

It snowed again last night, not too much though just enough to cover the cars and the drive, feels really cold though, glad we are having a day in today. OH plans to finish the painting in the bathroom, every time he starts getting the paint and stuff out something happens.
I am putting pockets in his fav jeans so he can wear them to travel in. I've never done that before so I hope they turn out ok !! very OS:rolleyes:

Then sorting out what to pack, I need to get it all done early as DS1,DIL and our DGD's are coming up on Sunday, they will be staying here for the first week we are away, and then handing the keys to next door for the second week.

N9eav - fingers crossed for OH's interview hope she gets it.

Hester - good for him, at least he is doing something, and bringing some cash in :T
thriftlady - your soup sounds yummy

mudgekin - what a bloomin cheek, no wonder you are  I would be too. Some families eh:rolleyes:

Sistercas - hope you feel better soon x

csarina - hope things get sorted for your OH soon x

  • Good morning all.

Little bear has had porridge for the first time in ages, he has been so green nosed.

I have bought some own brand Sainsbury oatcakes - and they are awful! I shall have to go back to the Nairns. But what do I do with the dratted ones that I can't bear to eat? I think there are going to be some lucky ducks this weekend.

Some good news - the landlord of next door, with the hole in the roof, that is affecting us, is likely to be prosecuted, which is a hope. However, if I do anything about the roof now myself it will undermine the prosecution and the landlord has been very bad - he was trying to fiddle carbon monoxide readings in one place he owns to make it look like it wasn't a risk! So I don't want to stop him being stopped from being a bad landlord. But that does slow down the selling of the house, because I didn't even bother about asking how long a prosecution will take...

But yesterday I did a stew which dear heart really enjoyed and there is enough for another meal to put in the freezer, and today I have a 'value' chicken, which in many ways makes me feel guilty but it is massive, so I suspect former egg layer, and it is going to be cooked in a big pan with lots of veggies for soup, two days cold, stir fry and probably hash.

The big pan is huge and makes me feel like Mrs Beeton when I use it but it so hard to clean.

Two health visitors came yesterday. Little bear is going to miss his playgroup for at least a couple of weeks, but is going to a story time. I am so scared he will not sit still.

I need to try and get my courage up to try and get him to the mums and tots at the end of the street. It will be so good for little bear, so I will try very hard. It is tomorrow, so I will let you know if I manage it.

Hester - wow, no wonder your dear heart's family are upset if they lose a chance of getting cheap casual labour on tap. I hope it all goes well for him.

Tru - it is very hard to convince a man of anything. Sometimes it needs to be regularly repeated, and I have sometimes considered flash cards ;)

    Hugs to all.

    Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone is doing ok despite selfish families/friends who would do better really to keep their opinions to themselves  I used to have a friend who made sure she came to my house at lunch time, with both her children, having cleaned hers and left it immaculate  It really annoyed me as I'd end up clearing away right at tea time when I wanted to get my 3 fed & sorted.

I'm going to see my best friend (I sound 12 :D ) this morning who I haven't seen for a week. I've been bisy settling into a new routine with 6 of us and she's a self employed dog groomer & has been very busy. I'm making the coffee while she does 3 dogs & chatting :T WM nearly finished it's 2nd load so that'll go to dry before I go out. Spag Bol bubbling away for tea it smells really good already! I used 500g minced beef, 2 onions, a jar of pasatta, a tin of toms, 4 grated carrots, 3 sticks of celery, some bacon, herbs, s&p, pinch of sugar and half the pasatta jar refilled with water. It should easily feed us all although I don't think there'll be much left over. Lunch will be leftover pasta bake from last night which I plated up as soon as possible to stop it going in to the dogs (dh's lovely habit)

I must say that the kids are all gelling very very well together. My youngest ds (10) said to me last night that he likes it now as there's always someone to talk to :A I must admit that I feel pretty much the same.

Is Hockeyduo away? I've not 'seen' her around. And Coldstreamalways? I miss seeing their posts. Sybil - Hope that things are ok for you I miss reading your posts.

Edited to say Hi Sybil!! Great to see you back!

((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) to all. Take care today.

    Good morning all!

It's -3 here in Staffs and the car was frosted up this morning so i put a couple of kettles full of lukewarm water on the windscreen and sidewindows to defrost them. DD said she didn't feel well enough for college so i made her call the absence line to let them know. Being off today means that she got out of going the dentist today and since me, DD and DS all have an appointment at the same date and time, i decided to canel mine and DS's appointment as well. I have just asked if we can see the new lady dentist when we go in March, the male dentist that the kids 'grew up with' has left now and the last time we saw the new male dentists i think we all found the experience quite uncomfortable.

So, another whole month without seeing the dentist, whoopee!

Today i am going to make a chicken and mushroom parcel. I haven't made one before but it looks yummy in the Be-Ro book. I'm also going to sort out all my craft stuff and I have a couple of Birthday cards to make, so will do that today.

Brrr it's cold in the house, i think i'll go and find me a cardi..hope you all have a productive day, stay safe and warm.

    Good morning all!

Well I've now finished work till 23 Feb - yippee!

OS today - bm on, hoovering done, tidied and swished and swiped, think that'll be it though!

Lunch for me is all you can eat at Pizza Hut with a friend, hmmmm, no washing up, enough coke to make me buzz and best of all no washing up lol! Kids took jam sarnies (hm peach and strawberry and hm bread), hm scotch eggs, yoghurt, raisins, choc and orange muffins.

Dinner for the kids tonight will be chicken pie - must remember to make the pastry before I go out so that it can rest! Will serve with roast pots and roast butternut squash, green beans and carrots. Pud will be steamed sponge pud with custard/cream.

Looking forward to an early night and watching the Victorian Farm in bed :-)

Still not caught up for days properly! Been trying to sort the house out before my friend and her boys arrive for half term, I have a slight respite as they are now coming on Monday rather than Saturday! I've also been reading some books I picked up in the cheapy shop and at work, and got engrossed in 3 at a time - one upstairs in my room, one in the sitting room and one in the kitchen! I shall be sending all 6 books off with my friend, we like to swap!

Sybil - good luck with toddlers, I do remember how hard I found walking into a new group at first, but most are pretty good at making you feel welcome - either that or they're all so bored talking to each other they're pleased to see a new face! Perhaps you could just try going for half an hour? Oh and don't worry about LB running around at story time, the staff in our library used to do one and my kids used to do circuits, not to mention emptying shelves and whooping - people who deal with children are used to it, bless em they never used to turn a hair!

Have a good day all, going to do a mega catch up now! xx

Hope you are all doing well. ((((((hugs)))))) to all who need them or want them!

Sybil - Great to see you back posting again. I really did miss your stories about little bear. I hope you do manage to go to the mums and tots tomorrow. Just remember the first day will always be the hardest but it will be worth it. When I have something to do that I dont particularly want to or like I always make sure I have a nice treat waiting for me when I get home!

Well wont be much OS going on here today. WM on and will be hung up shortly (one of my most hated jobs!)

Cant really think about the meal plan today as my new meds for my Arthurs are making me feel sooooooooo sick. The very thought of food is enough to make me run to the bathroom (or I would if I could!)

Its my little cousins school formal tonight and she is so excited, bless her. Shes more like a sister to me and has 'taken refuge' with us on many an occassion. So my day will be spent with her, giving her some pampering. I am doing her hair and make up so please please pray that she looks like a princess and not like a clown! She doesnt have the easiest of home lifes and I think its about time that someone took care of her for a change but thats a whole other story.

W*rk had arranged for a physio to contact me (despite the fact that I do attend a hospital physio) so she called at 8.45am was on the phone for about 40 minutes and basically said that I was doing everything I could/should be. Am getting a bit of pressure from my manager to return to w*rk but I know that I am not ready, my gp and rheumatologist have given her reports saying the same but still she seems to be constantly contacting me asking when I plan to return!

Anyway enough of my ramblilngs, hope you all have a fantastic thursday.

    Linz xoxox
