    Just a thought.
If we are using other suppliers, eg Primus, for virtually all calls - and only paying line rental to BT - or making BT calls that amount to a few pence - could we not qualify as low user under BT and get a Low User discount for BT line rental?

    I suspect not but .......

You're absolutely right. The answer is a definite NO!

It's all covered in their terms and conditions which state things like you must not be using any other provider for your calls.

hi, it seems im a bit behind the times and ive missed some inportant advice regarding call provider changes that might explain why ive received a bill for calls from BT which really has xissed me off. last time i checked the site i changed to dual user, justdialserver.com and 18799.com and 08448616464+ for mobiles to cover all my phone options. Now it seems the options have changed and im not sure what i need to do to make sure i pay the bare minimun for my calls. I try to make myself a very small call user and as i have (sadly) very few people to phone, its the children who use the phone mainly in the evenings and after school/colledge so apart from those calls i cant avoid i follow the guide lines. Whooosh! now i find im doing it all wrong and the playin field has changed, so what and who should i be using please someone?

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

Thanks Terry, there's now a link to a better version of that Orchid programming list from the main HERE link in my signature - I try to update them both when necessary but, as ever, readily admit that additional small savings may be available to those with the time to search.

Thanks Heinz but as there's only my wife and I that need to remember what to use, the Orchid Dialer would be, I think, unnecessary for me. Looks a great bit of kit though.
