Hi all,
I have a problem with Curry's that I would like some advice on.
In Dec 07 I bought a new fridge freezer, however after 5 months it broke and we lost all our food. It was repaired without any problem but within 2 weeks it broke again. Once again it was repaired.
We went to store to complain and manager replaced the fridge freezer with a new one.
Everything was going fine at this stage until we tried to claim for the destroyed food. After 2 months of constant emails and phone calls we finally got a decision on the claim. They have offered us £51 for the lost food. (For both incidents)
They state that we are only entitled to £15 per cubit feet. I rejected the offer and have told them that I will go to the small claims court as the sales of goods act states that you should not be out of pocket for any unsatisfactory goods that we have been sold.
Doe's anyone think that we should proceed or are we wasting our time?
Some advice would be very much appreciated.

Hello All,
My first post so i hope its in the right forum. The story; I have been moved from my previous address for over 3 yrs now and I am being chased for non payment of Building Inspection fees by Chester-le-street District Council for the extension on my last house. I know I paid it...cash, did get a carbonated receipt (vaguley recollect) which I have subsequently lost (as you do). The Council are saying they have no record of this transaction and have instructed bailiffs to collect the summ of £255. Their records show I paid the planning fees and Building Control fees but not the inspection fees, someone has cocked up and they won't admit to it!! To date they have put on hold the bailiffs while they investigate further.
What are my rights, the works were completed 4 years ago and as I say I moved from that address over 3 yrs ago. Who keeps receipts for an old house?? Your kind advise please.0 -

Can anyone help me with this one?
My Mum took delivery of a Debenhams 3 piece suite last week. She went in on Monday morning to say she was not pleased, she had waited 2 months for it and then she received items which were poorly finished. Chair looks like it is going to burst at the back, all items have staples showing (some neat, some sticking out, but showing nevertheless which cheapens it), and one sofa is burst underneath the cushion.
They are sending someone out to inspect it....well so they say, we chased it up yet again today. They said if it can be repaired then they will and it is up to the engineer if they offer a refund or not.
She doesn't want it repaired. She is sick of it and wants a refund. She paid almost £2,000 for the 3 pieces and doesn't want to pay that much for repaired goods. And she doesn't want a replacement either.
Any ideas?0 -

Hello,
I'm hoping that someone here can help me with some info.
My iPOD nano has recently recieved some water damage and is refusing to turn on.
I know that I should be able to reclaim it on the home insurance but I would rather not. I was wondering if it would be possible to claim it back from somewhere else like Apple or if it would be covered under any sort of automatic warranty.
I bought it 14 months ago and still have the reciept.
Any information would be awesome
Cheers

If you had an extended warranty taken out at the place you bought it they would have covered accidental damage. Apple will say no outright. Have you tried to dry it out in the cupboard? Try it... just leave it in a cold, dry and well aired location. I used to work in the phone trade and when this happened airing work 60% of the time.0

Hi, this is my first time posting here. I bought an Electrolux vacuum cleaner from Comet on 9/10/08 and I really am not happy with it. I chose it because I have a dog and it clearly stated that it was suitable for homes with pets. Having only used the vaccuum cleaner a handful of times I have found that there is now virtually no suction through the main hoover. I took it back to Comet and the very young sales assistant claimed that he had a house with numerous pets and he would not have purchased this appliance for his home. This would have been useful to know at the time of purchase. When I explained that it was not sucking properly he tested it by sprinkling something on the floor and hoovering it up...and hey presto it worked, but the issue is that it does not suck up pet hair. I wanted to exchange it for another well known brand and I even had the extra money in my hand, but he refused and said that the cleaner was working fine and I should clean the filter after every use, which I think is excessive. I scaled the manual and it only said the filter should be cleaned regularly. I called the store and they said that because i have had it more than 28 days I cant have a refund. I also no longer have the box, I don't know if this is an issue, or even if I really am entitled to a refund or exchange for another brand. I have read lots of posts about Comet and dont hold much hope, but if anyone has any advice it is greatly appreciated.0
