bham-dave wrote:If you had a 99p Chocs voucher ready to use, wouldn't this be better and involve absolute minimum cash outlay:
Buy 10 packs of Bodyform - 99p each
plus Lindor chocs at £3.49
Sub-total = £13.39
less chocs voucher - £2.50
Sub-total = £10.89
less Bodyform vouchers x 10 = -£10.00
Total cost = £0.89
So still paying just 89p, but you're getting the chocs included in the transaction too - and you were going to buy those chocs anyway weren't you?And you've still gone over the £10, so you'll get another skincare/chocs voucher.
Wouldn't have the nerve to go and buy loads of Bodyform myself, but this is a great way to get extra vouchers.
They won't give you the choc/skincare voucher if you just part with 89p.
They take the total paid to them ie 89p .
I tried this and the grumpy SA said you haven't 'actually' spent' £10 only 89p. So wouldn't give me a voucher. I made a protest but she wouldn't give in and I didn't get the voucher.
Also found (by experience) if you spend £10 and pay with the Boots points they won't give you a voucher.
You have to actually part with £10 (cash/cc etc) to get a voucher.

I'm no lawyer, but that's a very interesting point.
Firstly, there's no cash value to a coupon. They usually have a residual value of 0.000001p or something printed on them.
Secondly, you're removing the voucher (which is not your property) but returning it to the ownerbefore you leave their premises. (If you put a bottle of perfume in your pocket without paying and then replace it on the counter before leaving, have you nicked it?)
Thirdly, they could shout at you for damaging their stock, but if you then buy the stock you've just damaged at full price (less voucher of course) they haven't incurred a loss.
I'd imagine what they could get you on would be the voucher's Terms & Conditions. But to do this it would need to have a specific clause saying "This voucher can only be used on ..... provided you have previously acquired it by paying full price for an identical item." And that's unlikely. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Did a project years ago on suncreams and there is no evidence to show that the cream deteriates its effectiveness after the sell by date. I am happy to accept the Public Analyist findings on this. We did not test P60 which I am pleased to say can now be bought in Asda. Expensive, yes.....but well worth it.I am very fair, and catch the sun very easily .....P60 if applied on totally clean skin (wash before application with a soap nothing with silicone in as that prevents the P60 binding onto the skin and you are guaranteed protection for the whole day, I swear by it.SallyD0

mich_city wrote:I returned a few TD/DR items myself.. but bought like for like.. the SA knocked full price off new item each time.. I've read on here tho that some have had £5 knocked off exchanged item 'due to the recent offer'
They really have no proof that you bought the item by using a "£5 off" voucher (although you probably did of course!). I just say I had it bought me as a present.

derbylady wrote:my friend tried to take her TD line smoother (i think it was that anyway) well funnily enough she ended paying full price when she brought it cause she couldnt use the voucher cant remember the reason why, but shes not 1 to argue or disagree, anyway they said we cant change that its cosmetics, she came back to where i was and i said yes they will give it here so i went back in big queues at all the tills so went to cosmetic counter she said she would need to check(we didnt have a receipt by the way) i said ok but she came back without finding any1 and i said if u read the back of the receipt it says no cosmetics but it isnt its skincare, in the end she swopped it for some moisturiser of a different make, so if u fail the first time try again at a different desk.
If they ask "did you buy that with a voucher?" tell them you bought it in December before the vouchers started. If they then say "you can only return items within 28 days or some other rubbish" tell them that their returns policy printed on all receipts doesn't say that and neither does the money-back guarantee on all TD products.
