  • hi all,

got 10 packs bodyform in our local boots, and also the £5.00 voucher :j , did have the store detective and 2 extra sales assistants to contend with , did feel a bit like a criminal, while all the criminals were having an easy day that day with nobody to see what they were up to.

Anyway did go into another boots branch and got 2 bodyform ansked the older assistant very sweetly igf there was anymore with the sticker. She did go and look but came back with only 2 and said that is all with a not so nice face on her. Oh jwell back there tomorrow / monday when she puts them all out
  • To a previous poster [she will know who she is],That's exacatly what I previously said

about some members, and you've done it too, several times!.But now your complaining ,Why do you and a couple of other individuals think Boots,is run solely for their benifit?Soon they will start cutting back on their offers,or God Forbid SCRAP ADVANTGE CARDS ALTOGETHER!And the rest of us,who don't abuse these offer, will know who to blame.Guess,it means some of you will have to get a Life.

They won't give you the choc/skincare voucher if you just part with 89p.
They take the total paid to them ie 89p .

I tried this and the grumpy SA said you haven't 'actually' spent' £10 only 89p. So wouldn't give me a voucher. I made a protest but she wouldn't give in and I didn't get the voucher.

Also found (by experience) if you spend £10 and pay with the Boots points they won't give you a voucher.

You have to actually part with £10 (cash/cc etc) to get a voucher.

    Hi Maisie,

Yesterday, I got 11 packs of bodyform and used £10 x 1 coupons to pay (didnt take them from the packs there and then I had them in my purse from previous purchases) and paid 89p in cash - I got the 43 points for the whole £10.89 value of the purchase and the £5 skincare/choc voucher (and not forgetting another 11 x £1 coupons that were on the packs) the SA I got said the till was telling her to give me the voucher so she had to do it!

It does work and no, they dont have to be one per transaction, that only usually applies to Boots vouchers (the till wont allow more than one of the same type of Boots own vouchers - hence we had to use one per transaction of the TD/DR vouchers) and if they try to tell me otherwise I ask them to try it and see (adding that I've bought them that way before if it applies).. the usual reaction is ' oh, they must have changed it then'

This type of manufacturers coupons are treated as cash, and dont forget Boots dont lose out at all anyway as they get the value of the coupon back plus a handling fee.

Secondly - for everyone whos posted today re 'greediness' and returned goods.

My opinion is If Boots werent happy they could have refused the sale of the 108 items of EI. I think if Boots are happy to sell them to him, then none of us has any right to criticise his actions in buying them. At the end of the day he has still paid cash for his goods.

As far as return of items is concerned, Boots have changed their policy within the last 12 months to say that they wont refund cash on goods without a receipt, but they will give an exchange.

They are obviously fully aware that this happens and have taken steps to protect themselves. If goods are returned in the condition in which they are purchased and its clear that they are. Then I dont have a problem with returned goods. At the end of the day Boots are no worse off by anyone doing this. All that happens is that they've exchanged for different products to the same cash value.

But hey, thats just my 2 pence worth!
  • Same thing happened to me was trying to get three bodyforms with three vouchers plus a choccy bar - SA said had to put them through seperately, so got 1p knocked off my choccy bar plus SA handed me back 2p as 'change'!!!!

I bought just 2 packs of bodyform and it said refund 2p. The SA said 'you should be so lucky' and didnt! I didnt complain. Took the coupons off and went back for another 2 the 2nd SA said ' it thinks you are owed 2p - i cant do that though'.
Thought nothing of it at the time - thought no need to argue - sems fair. But now their tills will be up surely(sure no one minds that though) they always argue they can only do what tills states - why wouldnt these time - different rules for when suits i see!

In my local Boots they will accept my Bodyform vouchers (I have 6), but all 3 stores have to put them through one at a time (and not give the penny change!).
It takes ages but the sales assistant in one branch has been a real sweetie with them. He doesn't care how long the queue is, he said if they only work one at a time...........that's how he'll do them. He's been really patient with me, bless.

Hi Maisie - I thought the Bodyform vouchers were treated as "cash" by the till?

Sure someone said that earlier.

(Wish I had the nerve to go and buy some and get those extra choc/skincare vouchers - should collar a female friend!)

EDIT - Just read bedshaped's post above.

In st helens i've been buying 10 packets at a time using my original paid for vouchers. Then infront of the cashier taking of the vouchers before she scans them. Then i go back for another 10 packs as she is bagging them for me. the young girl on the till doesn't mind. But i did originally pay for my first 10 packs.

It is only a young girl on the perfume counter and the towels are right next to them.

I get a voucher and i give her a extra 75 points for spending over a tenner cause i always buy a deodorant. Oh and the 10p is always taken of the price of the deodorant.

Last week i did this 5 times with the girl.

Tesco also have them in at 98p

Up to now i have had over 200 packets of these. I have given most of them away to friends for daughters.
But i have saved about 40 packs for daughter.

I still have over 20 vouchers left i just want to keep getting them but hubby says that i have to many now.

friends bought a few packets and have given me their money off vouchers cause they feel embarassed using them.

Not me boots pay me to take them away and tesco give me club card points for them.

see here are last weeks haul

Although you can find out where the machines are you probably wont know if they are working until you actually get to the shop. And it looks like all the machines go down at the same time.

Damn I forgot about the Bodyform today.
