  • I have had the misfortune of using Aquashield Sunderland and have had ongoing problems since July 2007 in trying to get them to repair damage they caused on my roof. Their company is very unprofessional and I have also had to seek advice from Trading Standards in order to get it sorted properly. DO NOT under any circumstances use this company!!!

We do not offer a warranty, its a garuntee, a million times better.

Millions times eh:eek: As long as there is someone around to claim against

We as reps are not liable for mistakes the fitting teams make
    You just take your commission????

Can you inform us, as to the life of a Concrete roof tile that you paint over???

Well they washed my roof 2 weeks ago and done some repairs and applied the first coat this week. They will finish it on my terms and only when the weather is clement enough to do so. We have also agreed that no money or cheques will change hands until I am 100% satisfied and that includes a thorough roof inspection by my colleague's roofer hubby. I'll keep you posted.

My roof was coated 2 weeks ago and it rained overnight, washing some uncured paint from my roof. I immediately stopped their cheque the following day and their installations manager arrived 2 days later and agreed it would be totally re-coated. This was done today amid some lovely sunny weather by a guy who took great pride in his work. An excellent job done, I then contacted their director to ask when my skylight etc would be cleaned from the previous time. The installations manager is coming to clean it himself and only then am I to hand over the final payment less a goodwill gesture discount. Some companies are only unreasonable if you are too quick to part with your hard earned cash and sometimes we need to hold them to ransom and not the other way round as the pound is king in their world.
  • Right hey guys my name is Malley, Im not new to the site but Im new to the forums. I was browsing through and seen this thread about the company I work for. So i thought to my self hey lets see what the general public think about AQS and to my amazement the verdict was 50/50 rather than a more positive attitude towards the company in which I expected.

Im a canvasser for AQS and Ive worked with them since about October/November 07 and the work ive done with company the majority of the time has been positive.

Heres a little brief about the company.

The company was started by a Scottish man who seen a gap in the market for his roof coatings. So he started work in Scotland and found out that the gap he thought that was there for his product, Was there.

So as the company progressed and his profit got bigger he worked his way down the country opening up brachs up and down the country. Being a Cardiff Lad the nearest branch to me is Cwmbran. And to be honest some of the jobs in my local area are not worth the Sum of money the customer paid. But, A big but...

In defense of the company when it 1st landed in Wales how did they know who were the good roof fitters and who were the cowboys. Theres only one way to find out and thats by checking there work out as they were doing it. So of course some people had bad jobs but the bad jobs got the bad fitters sacked and they have kept doing this intil they got a good army of fitters fitting to the highest standard. And now everytime a customer buys the product from me I know that the work they are getting done is good value for money.

And if there is any people on this site who have had bad expierences with AQS then I apoligise on there behalf. But I can gurantee you that profits are up and the company is just going to get bigger because 90% of the people who get it done are 100% happy with there work and would recomend us to a friend.

O and By the way I havnt just come on here to protect AQS I do intend to keep posting on this site before I get some pathectic digs of some of the users on here.

.., don't get it!!! Are we not meant to assist each other on the forums? What do some folk get out of slagging off someone who recommends a product or company? ...

Hey pedro67, it is a money saving site, don't think many of us here would spend our hard earned cash just to give our roofs a new tint, or recommend this service as it adds no intrinsic value to a house. Besides how many of us really look at our roof or come home every day and think "WOW, that's good looking roof!" :).

Do have trouble understanding what is meant on your site "a low cost alternative to re-roofing" as people only tend to have their roof redone only when it leaks
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

Ok heres one for you,When was the last time you was walking down the street and said WOW, thats a good looking transit van uuuuum never.

On the other hand think how many times you been walking down the street and a Audi R8 or a Ferrari Spider drove past and though WOW thats a nice looking car.

You dont look and compliment things unless its nice to look at, It may not add much value to your property but it adds alot more curb appeal to someone who is interested in buying your house rather than a dinjy greay roof covered moss.

I've never ever walked down a street thinking "WOW, that is a good looking roof!", also "I've never walked down a street thinking "YUK, that is a ugly roof". My only criteria has been does it leak and a very distant second is that could I put a loft conversion on here or another floor! I'm too old for smoke and mirrors!

I wish it was my site BD. Maybe then I'd be a self made millionaire instead of tending to sick and injured folk, (I love it really!!)
I've just paid £1100 for a moss free roof which is also aesthetically pleasing, a choice made by me because I wanted the product. If you don't want it, don't buy it.
I will say one thing though; they don't half push the boundaries of health and safety way past legal limits.
