  • If you go to any roof tile supplier ie Marley etc they wil sell you 2300 tiles at about £1.30 each add 4 rolls of felt at £60 a roll, batrterns at 30p a foot and a couple of guys at £80 a day minimum. you do the maths?????

    exactly.
BTW paying 2.5k for someone to spray some dubious (50 quids worth max) chemical onto my roof, seems like employing wacko jacko as a babysitter, as good sense.

Try +£130 a tub.... don't talk thru ur hat if U R hatless.
Technology changes, the world is not flat and the moon might be cheese,

  • Funny how roofing systems have worked OK for hundreds of years without either being painted in acrylic or being washed down with fungicide.
If your roof needs "........., replacement tiles, pointing, ........., labour" it could cost anything from a few pounds to a few thousand, we have insufficient details to go on.

jesus has worked for millions for over 2000 years..... must be true then??????

You may well be correct re: spammers and yes, this is my first post but why sit on your sceptical gluteus, assuming there are no genuine posters. If you don't believe in nor want the product in the first place, don't get it!!! Are we not meant to assist each other on the forums? What do some folk get out of slagging off someone who recommends a product or company? And where does the paranoia come from? I myself happen to be a Paramedic attempting to preserve the biggest investment I will ever make which is my bricks and mortar and not.....as suggested a spammer for any buisness. Get out more guys. :rotfl:

wELL DONE PEDRO, N ,I don't work for Aq-shld either , but you will never convince those guys that black aint white, must be a roofer????

aquashield use a water based acrylic coating in the UK. obviously with it being acrylic it doesnt fade.
with them owning the patent to the product it doesnt come cheap, it isnt just a tin of paint from your local B&Q.
prices are not the same for every property. £2500 for a semi means nothing. it all depends on the square meterage of your roof. and who gets a guaruntee with a new roof? with it being a service for the whole of the roof as well its bound to be a bit more than a few hundred quid, it isnt just the coating your paying for! washing, replacement tiles, pointing, fungicides, labour.
id like to shake the hand of anyone who can get a brand new roof cheaper without it being from their uncle or w/e.
hats off to aquashield in my opinion.

As they say, NEVER PAINT OVER CRACKS
And they are not getting a brand new roof, just a paint job and a warrentie with more holes than a natural spong.

AQ are expensive try www.roof-coaters.co.uk based in cheshire, they are very good and made a great job of our roof two years ago. and offer credit card facilities, 10 year warranty 5 colours, and free survey.
This service is good if done right and if you are over 50 , why fit a new roof that is gong to last 50 years or so.....

PS re-roofing is an alternative but messy, expensive and in most cases avoidable.[/quote

I used Aquashield based in Sunderland in November 2007. They damaged my front guttering whilst doing my roof and it is now March 2008 and after many telephone calls and letters they still haven't repaired the damage. All i get is promise after promise that they are going to repair the damage. It seems that they are just fobbing me off hoping i repair the damage myself but i am now going through trading standards, even courts if necessary, to get the damage repaired. The job on the roof is not even done properly as some tiles have not been sealed and there are still some damaged tiles that they did not replace. After paying £1500 i expected a better job done. My advice is DO NOT USE this company.

Well they washed my roof 2 weeks ago and done some repairs and applied the first coat this week. They will finish it on my terms and only when the weather is clement enough to do so. We have also agreed that no money or cheques will change hands until I am 100% satisfied and that includes a thorough roof inspection by my colleague's roofer hubby. I'll keep you posted.
