Do you find paying by Vanquis card a tad embarrasing ?

I'd be more inclined to get a Capital One Clasic card if i was sub prime.

    Maybe I'm just a snob

I see what your saying but wait until you get a gold card from Vanquis. You'll be walking around the streets with it tied to your neck, flashing it like it was 24 carat gold. :p

I quite like Vanquis. Good company and I've never had any problems with them.

I don't think most people - certainly those with mainstream cards - have heard of Vanquis, and even if they have, it doesn't say Vanquis on the card so who cares who sees it?

I prefer my Capital One card as I like the online banking, so do tend to use that more.
