Just needed a bit of info. If vanquis card is at £100 what would the minimum payment be???? TIA :-)

You should never borrow more than you can afford to repay in full on a Vanquis card. They are for credit building purposes only and should not he used to spread the cost of repayments.

Once your credit rating is better you can get a card with a sensible APR that can be used for spreading the cost of purchases but until then never spend on your Vanquis card what you don't have in the bank anyway to repay it with.

Strictly, where the APR is the default 39.94% the monthly interest is 2.839% so on a balance of £100 for the whole month the interest is £2.84p. But the actual amount would depend on the day it was debited. The minimum payment would be the minimum allowed - a fiver.

The absolute minimum we should pay is the minimum payment plus the interest.

Hi everyone, I applied for a vanquis card on the 26th of February and got the usual 'will get back to you in the 10-14 days'.

I got an email from them on the 28th february which I just checked now, and they have written to me that they have been unable to contact me by telephone to verify the details of my application and they need to do that before they can give a decision.

However they have give me a reference number and have asked me to call them quoting it on a 0800 number, so that vanquis can finish processing my application today.

However I am a little scared calling them fearing it could be a bad news. So waiting from them to try calling me again which they HAVE NOT.

So guys can u please give me some advices. Does this e-mail means I have been pretty much accepted and they are waiting for me to speak to them regarding the cash advance and ppi which is normal vanquis procedure ? Or cld it be they will only take the decision after I call ? What should I do ? Call them or wait for them to call me back ? Any advice would be appreciated !!

But isn't Vanquis known not to call people if the application has been declined, as they never called me the two previous occasions when my application was declined.

So I am wondering if they already have made a decision and waiting to speak to me or if they are yet to make one.

Also How long do I have to call them if they do not call me before they cancel my application or decline me perhaps ?

Just ring them. They might have the wrong number for you. Missing out a digit is easily done.

Sounds promising. Vanquis likes to speak to all new customers before opening an account and sending out the card. As you say, it gives them an opportunity to offer a cash advance and sell you ROP (Repayment Option Plan). Both of which you probably don't want.

They've probably already decided yes or no. It's probably a yes. If it was a no they'd just send you the bad news in a letter.

Thanks for that my only worry is that since they could not contact me on both my numbers and had to e-mail, may be that could have influenced their decision from a yes to a No ?

Ahh anyway I think I will bite the bullet and call them, and post an update !

ACCEPTED. :jOffered me a cash advance upto £200, which I politely declined, then ROP which again I declined, then offered me Id theft protection from experian at £6.79 a month, which I accepted, will keep it for a month and then cancel it. Said card should be with me in the next 14 working days . Here's cheers to hopefully some green zeros.:T:beer:
  • I had an item to buy (only a small amount) and that's fine, however, I have a food shop to do and I'd like to add it to my card this weekend. Will it go on this months bill or Aprils bill?

    Thanks muchly x
