I was just wondering how long payments take to show up? Also I notice that purchases also take some time to show up
I don't have a Vanquis card but when making debit card payments and paying in at the bank counter I've found that the payments take a couple of days to come through, but when doing a transfer through my bank account the payment shows up that night or the next day.

Purchases do take a few days to show up on the credit card systems.

Purchases and payments take 2-3 working days for me, even if I am paying via internet banking.
    They are very slow.
I now make sure the state-mented balance is paid off within 3 weeks so that leaves a full week clear in case they get slower!
  • Thanks Mr Green and KxMx, purchases from 31st Oct have shown up today so have cleared those too. I think I'll def leave a few extra days too KxMx!

I'm not sure I'm doing it right, or if indeed there is a right way to do it, seems pointless using the CC when I have money in the bank, then using my money to clear it a few days later... I guess time will tell, it would be nice to have a half decent credit rating again. On the huge plus side, I very unexpectedly had a job land in my lap!!! Nepotism at it's best, so that should help me too :D
  • a bit confused about vanquis, got a card last year in november with £250 limit, used the card mostly for small purchaces online,no credit limit increase whatsoever, anyone has same story?

I got a Vanquis card three years ago with £250, rarely used it, and then got a letter in Feb raising my limit to £1500 lol. Still never use it x

any late payments, going over the limit? that will automtically wipe out the 4, 6, whatever months until the computer gives you an increase.

if not, worth contacting them asking if there is anything wrong with the way you have been managing your account as you have not had any increases?
  • never had any defaults,no late payments, all kept well mantained, rang them few months ago, they said 2me we can not help u with the credit limit increase all u got to do to mantain the account wel as simple as that, hope that end of this month will be a full year and then maybe i will get a increase
  • although some posts are contradictory to this, i believe vanquis also tries to screen out customers who don't make them any money. there was an investor's document leaked on here earlier in the year which showed the average balance carried on a vanquis card was £650 on an average limit of £900... so naturally customers carrying £0 forward each month and making them a loss for running the account are not going to be the people they are going to offer more credit to

What's the highest Equifax score? According to this page it's 999 and a score of 426 is at the lower end of the "Good" range. So, it's nothing special; it's less than 50% of the maximum.

And there are things the Equifax score doesn't take in to consideration: income, your household circumstances and Vanquis' "lending criteria."
