Yeah, looks like it.
Debit card payments for Debenhams take 2 working days but Internet Banking reaches them in hours for me.0 -
Well......after being discharged from bankruptcy for nearly four years, I decided to have a go and apply for a Vanquis card as everyone said it's good for improving credit ratings. I applied online, got a call this morning and was accepted. Don't get me wrong, I have no intention of going silly with it...far too scared and much wiser now. The interest is huge- but I hope to generate more confidence in other lenders at some stage and get my credit rating back to normal. Can't imagine the hubby will be too pleased- but he may at some point, after seeing my c rate improve, decide to give it a go himself....Going br was the best thing we ever did and since then, we have been very cautious...so will see how it goes:)
Good Luck, but be very careful with the card.
Credit rating can take years to improve sufficiently to impress lenders after bankruptcy. I've been there. It can be done but its no quick fix.0 -

What you have to consider is that rebuilding credit is not instant. It takes a few years. What most people hope to do is build a good credit history while their hopefully satisfied defaults reach 6 years old and drop off their credit report. Even with no defaults, CCJs, etc. it's still going to take at least 2 years but 4 years will be better.0 -
I usually use internet banking to make payments.
I have noticed they are much slower (2-3 working days) to be credited than both my store cards (1 working day if not same day), but i've never had a cc before so I don't know if this is typical..
Yes, payments show up online with Barclaycard and Capital One a lot quicker when made by the same method (debit card or faster payment online)
It is worth noting that when they do show up the Vanquis payments are acknowledged on the date they are made. The whole online system is quite slow in showing new transactions though.0 -
Applied for vanquis card back in July, got it in August with £250 limit. 1st payment (I pay in full by dd) came out mid August, 2nd mid September, 3rd is due in just over a week. Does anyone know when i'll be due a credit increase, I hear its usually after 4 mths so will that be after next months payment or after this one?0

hi to all, i am hoping so teabag29 cos i have now paid my 4th balance in full. so if anyone can confirm or deny this for me i would appreciate it.
also, i have paid the balance off on my card so its at 0, my statment date is 18th oct, my other question is, if i put any transactions onto the card before the 18th, will this balance need to be cleared again before the 15th to avoid interest or would these transactions carry over to next months statement without incurring interest?
my current limit is 500, the most iv used is 326 (partly due to dabs online gerr) would using this much stop me getting an increase? what increases did people get from 500 if they got one after 4 months (sorry if this is repeating past questions). dont want to use vast amounts more but higher limit presumably shows good account conduct which is what we are all here to demonstrate.
thanks

I can only comment on my own experience and it was with my statement. But that's a paper statement. Vanquis say every 4th statement but that's a "might" and not a "will". Whether you get one will depend on your individual circumstances and how much of your credit limit is being used.0 -

No, the opposite to that. i.e. if you're not using the credit you have then you don't need an increase. But it depends on individual cases. There are posts on these boards from card holders who never went anywhere near their credit limit and still got an increase.0 -
hi Anthorn, thanks for your reply. as i have said i only want the increase to demonstrate i can manage an account well enough to get one.
can anyone advise re any charges i make between now and the 18th(statement date) as my balance is 0 today, would i need to clear any balance accrued today to the 14th on or before the 15th, or would it all now go onto next months post the 18th (not had a card that have used this way before).
thanks for any advice as always guys0 -
It will go onto next months statement
When a statement is issued, you need to pay that amount. Anything after the statement is issued goes onto the next one.0
