Had the letter saying my limit would increase to £1500 from £500 after my next statement. Staement was produced yesterday, how long after this does it normally take for the increase to be applied, Thanks
Normally you would get the increase letter a month before the increase stating that the increase will be applied on your next statement.
Seeing as though you have received your next statement, the limit increase should have been applied already.
Did you make sure you were within the limit and have paid at least the minimum on time?
Maybe give it a couple more days, but in my experience of having 3 increase letters, The increase should have been applied a couple of days before your statement was produced.0 -

the letter normally tells you when the increase takes place. For me it was around a month after, so the letter was more a forewarning of the limit going up.Oh, you wee bazza!0 -
Well i'm past 5th statement and still no increase
I've had my Granite card over a year and no increase!
(always pay in full, never paid interest, usually use about £100 of credit limit of £500 in a month!)
Increases are not guaranteed and there is no exact science to when you'll get one!0 -
I'm up to £2250 as a limit on my Vanquis now. Last increase 3 months ago and had the card for just over 2 years now.
I've always cleared the balance each month by direct debit and never paid interest.
I use the card for all my monthly outgoings - food, clothes, petrol etc. I then keep the money in my current account and don't touch it. The higher the limit, the more of my monthly spend I've put on the card. For example, last months DD was just over £900. Maybe that's accounted for my limit increases?
My last default has almost dropped off (damn slow Equifax) so am hoping I can try a mainstream card shortly. However, I've had nothing but a good experience with Vanquis. One of the lucky ones maybe(?) but 28 green ticks can't hurt my credit rating.0 -

They sent me the same card back with an expiry date of next month (exact same details as my old one I reported lost, start date 3 years ago, expiry date of next month).
I thought maybe when this card expires, they'll send out the new gold card.
Just thought somebody might have had an experience of actually recieving a Vanquis gold card literally.
Yep - I have the actual gold card. I have had it for a while now.BCSC Member 70:j

Quick question.
Just before you got the increase to £2250, I presume you had a limit of £1750.
Vanquis states that as long as you make regular payments and that you utilise the existing limit without going over, then you will be entitled to the limit increase.
What was your balance when you got the letter saying your limit is being increase to £2250?0 -
Got my PIN through today, now waiting for the card to arrive0

The balance was £1250. I was pushing that limit a bit before the increase but never went over it.0 -
Card arrived today
Apart from the very agressive PPI push- not just persistent, the guy was agressive towards me- impressed with Vanquis thus far.0 -
Hi wonder if anyone could advice. Got my card about 10 days ago and have already used £220 of the £250 limit (the monthly food shop, which is what I plan to use it for every month). I rang vanquis and changed my d.debit from minimum to maximum each month and its showing on evanquis minimum payment 0.00 next statement dues 18th July.
my question is do you think ive used the credit too quickly and would it be better to pay it off now rather than wait until payment is due and just use it again a few times before next statement. I was only planning on usuing it for monthly shop (usually between £180 and £230 a mnth) and paying it in full each month but as the shoping date fell so soon after I got the card I dont want to appear as credit hungry iykwim. Could anyone advise?
Also if next statement is due 18th July when will payment usually be taken?
Thanks0
