  • Well after Aqua referred, accepted and then declined me lol I was expecting the worst. By the time I phoned them back I had pretty much talked myself out of any hope... So the welcome to vanquis blurb was quite a surprise.

Bit pushy on the cash advance but I declined of course. 39% apr and I'm guessing 250 limit as the advance was a 200 offer.

    My lurking paid off! :D

Even if you did carry a balance do you think PPI Is needed on such a measly limit? I mean affording a few pounds to cover min if you lost job shouldn't be too hard.

    Well done. A £200 cash advance = £500 limit I'd say.

I'll say the opposite to most people and say that if you work for wages or salary then the PPI is a must have. It's very cheap insurance paid on the outstanding balance and like all insurance we have it to get peace of mind but hope we'll never need it.

But if like me you're on a guaranteed pension which you get whatever happens or you're on benefits or a homemaker then you don't need PPI. A total and complete waste of money!

both myself and my OH got the bright yellow "pre selected" letters last week, i applied on 16th July - online, and got a call back on 17th july asking for some additional information (if i would like to set up a DD, if i would like a £200 cash advance etc) they said they will be in touch within 10 days or so.

is that the normal process, or is it a decline?

If they offered you a cash advance that means you got the card which you should receive within 10 days (14 days for me).

The normal process is they telephone you, ask a few questions, offer you a cash advance, try to pressure you into taking PPI and tell you your interest rates. Then you get your card and PIN sent to you separately.

Don't be afraid to telephone them and ask. They love it when you contact them.

they didnt tell me the interest rate in the call, they said "thanks, we have all the information we require for now and will be in touch in the next 10 days" but maybe i will give them a call,

    thanks,

update, i give them a call, they said i was declined!
