    OK back again, I have just had my 7th statement from Vanquis and still no sign of a limit increase. I got the card in June 2011 with a starting limit of £250. Since then I have managed my account as follows;
July Statement £20.99 paid in full
August - £64.50 paid in full
September - £59.43 paid in full
October - £47.82 paid in full
November - £82.97 paid in full
December - £167.80 paid in full
I get my statements online usually on the 1st or 2nd of each month and they are paid within 7 days, more often than not within 2 or 3 days. They said I was under review for an increase in October but still nothing.

I don't know how they work out who does and who doesn't get increases but I would love to know exactly what I have to do to get one...........

    Answers on a postcard please!!!!

    Answer:-

:rotfl:"Check todays post before asking the question!":rotfl:

    FINALLY....................
    Freshly arrived in todays mail.

    Congratulations!
You've earned a credit card increase. In recognition of how well you've managed your account, we would like to increase your credit limit. You're credit limit is currently £250 and will be increased to £1000 after your March Statement.

    It also states..........
Your new higher limit gives you the flexibility to make larger purchases, transfer money into your bank account or use it for anything else you need.

NOT that I would do it (can't imagine the APR:eek:) but is this a new thing??? I haven't heard of being able to transfer money from a credit card to your bank account before:o.

It's called a cash advance (a bit like you can withdraw cash from a cashpoint).

You'll be paying interest from the day that money leaves your vanquis account until it's all paid back in full.... statement dates don't count for cash advances. Wouldn't touch them with a bargepole!!

I wouldn't and won't be touching it with anyone elses bargepole, let alone my own. I just wondered what exactly it was, as I haven't heard of it before. It doesn't state if there's a fee or higher APR on the letter. Just says it's available.

Kyresa I think there was only you and I in the "Granite I've never had a credit increase" club, sorry to have to leave you on your own. Unless you snook a Congratulations letter in without telling me??;)

Lowest limit Vanquis card issues is £150, unless you have the secured version

If the Vanquis Alpha is the secured version then yes, I have the secured version.
