Can the above not go against you when applying for other credit cards as although the balance is being cleared its showing the card is being maxed out and 100% of avaliable credit being used?

I've always cleared mine in full at the end of the month, so my statement balance is always 0, and available balance is shown as my full limit on the Credit Report

    Just an update:

I have been speaking to the DCA that had been chasing me for a debt from Vanquis, although I was never served with a default notice; a default was placed upon my credit file last year.

I requested that the DCA call me regarding the debt, which they did straight away. All letters were sent to a random address where I have never lived, although the correct address was on my Vanquis statements. So, I never received any correspondence from wither the Vanquis or the DCA for over two years. I was passed pillar-to-post trying to pay my balance with no luck.

Speaking to the the DCA I asked them to state the facts they held and I did in turn. They were only interested in taking a payment - which I expected. Being legally trained I thought I discussed the legality and fairness of the default, having no chance to settle or having any awareness of the DCA - only when I consulted my credit file. No luck on the phone until I passed it over to my friend who is now qualified (I'm not just yet). He told them he needed a copy of the default notice, explained the situation. Suddenly they were interested. I emailed the facts across with the statute and common law that day. I had a response today stating that they were removing the default from my file within 4-6 weeks and that was that.

My first vanquis statement day is today, but its not showing on evanquis. I called them to ask why its not showing, they had no answer to it, but told me that if I make a payment today (I know the exact balance) that their system will not reconise it and will ask for another payment. Also if I use my card today, I will be charged interest. So its interest free if you pay in full, but no matter what, if used on the statement date, interest will be charged regardless.

I want to pay in full my balance today, but if I do, when the statement shows up, will ask for a further payment even though my balance will be zero. I don't understand how interest can be charged, if I use my card on the statement date, also they have not created the statement, which was due to be generated at 00.00 hrs last night.

Yes, this quirk in their system has been mentioned here before and, apparently, has been around for some time. Others have had the interest refunded after calling them.

So, for an easy life it's probably best not to make a payment or use your card on the day your statement is produced.
  • My first statement is due on May 20th - Is payment due that day or the standard 2 weeks from statement date?!

Ive had my vanquis card 2 and a half years and have just got a 2500 credit limit added to my account. Have balance of about 250 to pay at the end of the month. Is this a good offer from vanquis??? dont need it but looks good on a credit file i suppose.
