One's a lower interest rate than the other? Not that makes a difference when you pay off the outstanding balance in full...

    tiger

Tiger we are talking about the giants of sub-prime credit cards which is Vanquis, it won't matter what different cards they do and so called different APR's, you are going to be stung on anything that has a Vanquis logo on it.

good but dont maximise the limit and find it hard to pay, they will temt you to get cash advances by sending you cheques for you to pay into your bank and treat youself :) how nice oooooo now there interest is well adding up thenwhen you pay on time they INCREASE :j your credit limit then send you more cheques for a cash advance..... TEMPTING then another credit increase then another and another and another then give you a GOLD card basicly saying we GOT YOU NOW and we are going to make your life HELL..... Aaaagh suddenly yo realise paying them is a headaik and you miss a payment, or go into a DMP then you get the many a day every day harrasment fonecalls off there Numptys you soon realise that Vanquis are the scum of the earth praying on the vunerable/ poor to fill there greasy coffers at NO thought for YOU the person TRAPPED in HELL whilst there DEVIL harrasing colectors make your life HELL. my advice steer wel clear there the scum of the earth and need to be shut down for good
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

I actually feel quite "chosen" as I was rejected earlier this week for a Vanquis card. I'd owed Provident money from when I went bankrupt in 2005 but wasn't at all surprised that I was turned down...

Isnt this true for most debt collectors?

look at the Debitas thread as an example.

DCA's tend to attract immoral unscrupulous people who want to inflict misery on debtors, why would a person with any sort of conscience or morals want to work for a company that essentially exists to harass, lie to and threaten people every day?

From what i have read on here its very unusual for someone to default on a Provident loan and then get a Vanquis card - Maybe worth trying again in 6 months though?

Just wondering, My credit limit is £250, but I have spent around £550 on my card this month. Not gone over the limit though, spent about £240 in first week, paid it in full, then spent another £200 paid again in full, then spent another £90 paid in full, and my first statement is due next week, owe about £60 which I will pay in full again.

The bit i am wondering about, although I have never been over my limit, will my credit file look like its gone over the limit when they report to experian/equifax. My highest balance was £240.00 but I have spent over £500

you will have no problems, the CRA's get the following information, (looking at my experian record)

Snapshot Balance, Previous Statement Balance, Payments in Month

so for the latter one it will show all your payments in the Month

I do what you do often with my capital one card, and thanks to faster payments, can often spend triple the limit in a month, with no issues
    It's a health benefit ...
