I applied online and received a letter saying they needed further ID documents which i sent - I then called to see if the documents had been received and they told me i had been declined for the card and that i could re-apply in 6 months. The following day i got a call to say my application had been successful which i was suprised about and now today i have received a identical letter requesting the same documents i had sent previously - I called them up and they have no record of sending a 2nd letter and the guy on the phone sounded totally uninterested and half asleep!
I have heard that happen to a couple of people and they got it - so i wouldn't worry mate, they must have messed up first time with the docs or something..
Once you have had it a year and got something else dump it..The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability.0 -

I've got a vanquis credit card and have paid every month in full since I had the card (about 6 months). Weird thing is they haven't upped my credit limit so I'm still at £250? Is there any reason they aren't upping it? I tried to apply for an increase, but the message was they "periodically review credit limits and where applicable increase it"???0

So they are not actually making any money off you then.0 -

Do you have other credit cards, loans etc,? Vanquis review your credit report monthly and if you have other credit cards and access to money then they are unlikely to increase your limit.
Also as someone else said they have not actually made any money out of you yet.

Why concern yourself about this? You are building a credit rating quite well at the moment and doing what everyone should be attempting, in paying off the balance each month.
A £250 limit is quite sufficient to do this. Why do you want to spend more on your card? Would you still be able to pay it off in full each month if you were spending £1000 a month on the card?0 -

Lol, only someone with relatively good credit could make the statement above. For the rest of us, being offered more credit means that we are becoming more trustworthy and making good progress back to normal credit. I can totally understand why green_machine is anxious to see an improvement, and I'm sure it's nothing to do with wanting to borrow more money on credit.BCSC Member 70:j
