    Hi izools
    Thanks for your reply.

one shows updated at 05/01/2009 balance £20.****(20k plus) default date 10/10/2008. This and numerous others were in my BR, Which I have just checked was from Oct 2008 to Oct 2009 Others show satisfied. I have 28 green oooooo with my bank, which I opened the day after BR, but they only allow me a basic account with a visa debit card and won't do any upgrades at all, I was open and honest when I opened my vanquis. And I hope that they wont hold old stuff against me when deciding on limit upgrades. My bank when I speak to them keep saying the CR keep saying I have bad S**** against me.

barclays are the biggest culprit and I'll pop into a branch on Tuesday and hopefully try and sort this mess out. I don't owe them a penny anymore.

Since BR I run my new bank account perfectly. also I pay my provi , only ever missed one payment. They are not reporting to equifax though.

Like I say mate, you've got to be absolutely fastidious and steadfast in how you handle the post bankruptcy clean up - read the thread I linked to again, and follow the process to the letter.

Going into branch won't help you.

    Good luck!

    Thanks izools
I may just let them drop off after the 6 years. ? from default date.
Having enough problems trying to cancel the free month with Equifax. it's supposed to be free but they still charged me £1. Don't see why they need card details during a free period. Apart from for taking money they are not supposed to. Been on hold now for 50 minutes. And still the computer says, please hold the line. I don't want to pay a monthly fee, just wanted my report which I now have. The pressure of all this is driving me nuts. My bank have told me that it is Barclays, 3 defaults with balances that are wrecking my credit file and one from the Halifax. I've been through all the information that you sent to me, but I just don't have the ummmph to go through with all the hassle of letters etc. I may get a lawyer to write to them to say sort it now or we'll see you in court for libel. Got loads on at the moment, healths not so great and I've had enough of all the stuff that barclays are doing to me, due to their incompetence in not updating files.

    Thanks..

ASL, I went bankrupt in 2007 and was discharged 2008. I haven't done the credit files clear up (really should) but have a credit account with NEXT at £3,500 (only ever spent around £150 on the card) and Vanquis at £2,250. I have had Vanquis since Jan 2009 with a £250 starting limit, and have had increases every 4 months without fail. I have only ever used my Vanquis card for internet purchases - I got rid of the pin as soon as it came and have no idea what it is, so I can't (and don't want to) use it on it high street. In terms of making small purchases like a packet of gum? I would probably always use cash/debit for that sort of thing.

 Thanks Neko, I'm dreading the clean up. Awaiting my Experian report and need to cancel the subscription to equifax. I've alot on my mind at the moment, but when I get my experian report I will try what izools told me. it's just annoying that Barclays are not updating the CRA. I use a debit card for online shopping, I have two basic accounts with my bank, both with a visa debit card, If I want to buy something online I transfer the money into the said account and use one debit card only for internet shopping, so if I am buying something that costs £49.99 I transfer £49.99 into it moments before buying the said item. I only leave a £1 balance on that card and it means nobody can take more than they are supposed to. Main reason for using the card for everything is because on vanquis's website they say make the most of your credit limit and pay ontime to be considered for a increase. It would be nice to have say a £500 or a £1000 limit, simply for emergency use, and to have credit available in the time it takes the full payment to reach vanquis. I may start doing just a weekly or fornightly shop, instead of using it everyday for bits and bobs. I'm being sent letters all the time from the provi and greenwood, telling me I am a great customer, one of their best and would I like another loan. Only ever missed one payment in a year with the provi. My agents great, just a pain that he/she I wont identify he/she is never punctial. Sometimes even calls the day after he/she is supposed to. But my payment book looks great, no gaps apart from the one :T I'll just have to be patient. And hopefully on my fourth statement I will see a increase in the limit. Thanks for your reply and hope that you had a :easter_os

    Cheers

My first statement date with my vanquis card, so evanquis is telling me is the 10th May. Can anyone tell me what the payment due date will be. I canceled the direct debit as I will be paying each month using online banking. Also what is quicker please. Online banking to pay vanquis or paying on the vanquis website using a debit card. Normally when I send money using online banking, it comes up that it will reach the person in question in no more than two hours.

    Thanks

In my opinion? You've just done the most risky thing possible.

Re-Set up your Direct Debit to Vanquis to Pay In Full! This is NOT a card to even consider keeping a balance on! Honestly, most definitely, even Star-Fire would agree with me on that one!!!

If you have the Direct Debit and know you have to pay in full, you're much less likely to say "oh well I'll just pay off a tenner this month" and then the vicious Vanquis interest cycle begins.

You can always just pay it off through internet banking though - that's what I did, now I won't be using it so often I have a DD for the full balance set up.

The only bill I pay by direct debit is my internet service provider. everything else manual. Although I respect the message saying set up a DD

I agree with you and I think they are a license for the banks to print money re overdraft charges (incurred for "your convenience")....

However, where this card is concerned, it's better to spend what you have already got and could clear if they asked for payment the next day!

It's too tempting to say "oh I'll just pay £10 off this month" when you just pay on receipt of statements. Most of us have been there done that and paid the price - that's why we're currently holding Vanquis cards!

I appreciate not everyone agrees with me but the last thing you want to incur with Vanquis is interest!
