My credit limit increase wont take effect until my next statement on the 17 April 2011.
Why do they do that ?
Darren
Current vanquid balance - £1.96
Mine is a bit earlier than yours on the 12th of April.
I remember earlier in the year getting an updated terms and conditions from them I cannot lay my hands on it right now but generally it was to do with the new regulations on the way they allocate payments, within this I am sure I remember a new part that said something along the lines of
"from time to time we may decide to increase your credit limit if we do we will write to you giving you 30 days notice, if you do not want your credit limit to increase you can call us to cancel the increase."
Presumably this is now the way they do things?
I am in the same position as you going from £250 to £1000 it has took 8 months for me how long have you had the card?"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -

lol, not making fun, but sounds like you pay extra every month in more ways than one!
I take it you mean you pay more than the minimum, but less than the full amount... Be careful mate please, after 18 months the increased my interest rate to nearly 60%, i'd always paid on time and never went over my balance.
Just a friendly warning that you could be hit with a very nasty problem, when you think you've been managing your finances well!Opinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others

I have been a Vanquis customer since jan 2010 and my limit was £250 and this month I wrote to them to complain that I felt my account has never been reviewed correctly hence I have never been offered an increase. LO and BEHOLD a week ago I got a letter from them saying that my limit will be increased to £500 after my april statement!! so I would suggest you guys try that!!0

just a quick question..
The balance of my account is currently £1.96...Paid £70 against a balance of £71.96...from my statement of 17 march 2011
Vanquis will be increasing my credit limit from £250 to £1000 on my statement date of 17 April 2011.
Now here is the trick...I need a new laptop computer and i am trying to guess the interest they will charge.
If i buy a new laptop on the 20 April and then on the next statement pay £100 towards it...What interest will they charge ?
My latest statement says 2.84% per month.
I will be clearing the balance the month after. ( bonus due )

Presumably you mean an increase from £500 to £1,000? LOL
Dunno how you opt out of text alerts. I've just checked their website and providing them with a mobile number appears to be mandatory. So I'd guess you have to call them to opt out.0 -
My sister applied for one and never got a call or a letter to say she was declined - just never heard from them. The truth is out there... and I want to believe0

You could just block the number on your mobile - I think that would do it.
Good luck!0
