I've just had an increase from £1250 to £2500. I've had the card just over a year, started at £250.

  • Just to say do check your Vanquis statements really carefully, they do make mistakes. They transferred an incorrect balance from one card to a new one after a fraud and said they couldn't understand it. I complained formally on Feb 24th and this week a drone in their Customer Action Team said (unapologetically) that they haven't started investigating yet..... !!!!!! I got the name of her manager and have written again but that's IT now, I'm leaving just as soon as this is sorted. Financial Ombudsman next.

I got a Vanquis card about 4 years ago. Didn't use it for the first year. Anyway, started using it, and steadily they increased my limit. Now at £3000. I owe £1700 on it, and the interest was crippling me, along with my Aquacard. And I'm trying to save for a wedding.

Went to my bank yesterday to see what they could advise, came aware with a £3000 loan over 2 years at 15% APR. Enough to cover my CC's and my half of the wedding.

The money aside, I'm so happy that I've finally got back on track, financially. Never thought I'd be approved for an overdraft, let alone a personal loan from my bank.

Moral of the story? No matter how bad you might think your credit is, work had to pay it off, and start to rebuild your credit profile. Thing is, without the Vanquis and Aquacards, I doubt i'd have been able to do this. They really helped!

Lol you say the Vanquis & Aquacards helped you, yeah sure they helped you alright they were both crippling you financially and you nearly didn't have a wedding to go to because of these cards.:)

They are good for re-building your credit rating by using them for a few small things a month and paying them off. And for maybe large essential purchases spread over, say, 2 or 3 months to help you budget (being realistic). Not for long term debt like a 0% card.

Well, technically they did. I have a high credit score and a perfect credit file now. 'crippling' may have been a tiny overstatement, but whatever. :rotfl:

Lol it did make me laugh, but yeah they have defiantly helped your credit score.
  • Online it says statement due today but no statement available online as yet. What time do they usually become available. This is my first month with them.

It never actually shows online until the day after your statement is due.

Well just had my April statement yesterday no sign of my promised increase yet, if this new 30 day rule is what these new letters are all about then the 30 days from when they dated the letter is this Friday so presumably anytime after that, we shall see.

Anyone else who had their letters in March had their increases yet?

Yep, mine came through yesterday. I also got a letter today telling me I've been upgraded to Gold Status. Gold status means a dedicated freephone number - 0800 0237 137 or 01634 789 544 (good number for mobile calls), but not much else...
