If you were in fact late there's no way in hell they will remove them.

How long ago did you miss the payments?

Missed 2 payment mid and late 2007 but paid straight after I noticed I was late. Closed the account myself Dec 2007. Still a while before they reach 6 years and drop off :(

Didnt think they would remove them but thought I might write them a letter and see what happened. All they can say is no so worth a try,

New rules they have to give you time to reject an increase.

Just curious but why would anyone really want an increase on their Vanquis card, surely even to spend £500 on one is just crazy.

Although TBH being so long ago those late payments really aren't going to make a proper difference to your credit worthiness anyway.

Still, good luck with Vanquis :o

  • Yay i'm on the road to recovery.

Got accepted for a Vanquis card which arrived yesterday. £250 starting limit 49.9% APR. Just waiting for the pin to arrive. Didn't thing i would get accepted but did so things must be improving.

Is it worth applying for an Aqua card too or should i leave it?

I thought the natwest cards looked pretty naff, but the vanquis cards are even more drab.

    Yep - they are hideous!

I keep mine hidden away at home and rarely use it other than for online shopping. It's a credit building tool for me. Although I do have a small balance on it at the moment, it'll be gone at the end of the month.
