After 22 months of ownership, I am now waiting for my balance transfer to be processed and then Vanquis will get a nice little phonecall requesting that my account be closed.
Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.

  • I'm in a fight with Vanquis. My card was used fraudulently over Christmas and since I could prove it never left my possession the sum was correctly credited back. However they have now charged interest on the misused amount and the customer services can't explain it over the phone. So have just written formally. And I queried those £1 charges ages ago (no reply) so have resent that complaint too.

Have been happy to have the card to get the green circles but will be leaving once this is sorted out; this is very poor customer service. I managed to hold on to one mainstream card in time of trouble but was up to my limit; have just managed to pay that off and so will be using that from now on.

You realise you shouldn't have built up debt on a vanquis card?

At least there is sense in what you are now doing. Well done.

I was refused a Vanquis card....is that really bad? I made full & final settlements to 3 debts 18 months ago and have one outstanding debt of £5,000.

  • Had a vanquis card in 2007. Being young and stupid (a bit less so these days) I recived two late payments that were recorded on my credit report.

Any one had any luck getting late payments removed by vanquis ? Any advice ?

If you were in fact late there's no way in hell they will remove them.

How long ago did you miss the payments?
