I wouldn't have said so - I applied on 27 November and didn't get the phone call until 21st December and the card only arrived this Monday 10th January. I'd put it down to a combination of lots of applications, bad weather and lots of bank holidays delaying things. Call them to find out where you are up to though usually you would get a phone call at home eventually

Odd Q- does anyone know what number Vanquis would call you on if accepted or wanted a 'chat' ?

Usually needs a landline - my call was at home - luckily I was working from home that day!

I have heard that they call up to 9pm though. Its not a chat however - its a verification that its your landline and a hardsell of PPI and cash advance more than a chat!

I very much doubt anyone would be turned down off Vanquis TBH, I think their credit scoring is down to if you can fill the application form in correctly you then get accepted..
  • ive had my vanquis card since september and have never had an increase, still at £250.
ive always paid in time and the balance is only around £100 - £150

I waited 7 months for my first increase - £250 up to £500. Hoping to get another after month 10 or 12

You vanquis lot need to stop worrying about credit limit increase's and concentrate more on getting green zero's on your credit file, then hopefully applying for a better rate card.
Unless you have defaults on your credit file, a credit report can easily be made good within 12 months..

I've never requested an increase on my Vanquis and its now upto £2500. It started at £250 then went up like thos £750, £1250, £2000. I dont pay in full each month but I almost always pay more than the minimum.
