  • Hi,

New to this forum.....but has anyone else had the issue with Vanquis when your payment is apparently received late (due to their slow clearing rate), then been charged for late payment, and then been charged interest of the purchases made....a recent bill of mine was bumped up by the sum of £33.00., and I cannot see how this can be justified when all amounts (including full payment) appear on the same day. Your comments would be appreciated.

It's your own responsibility to ensure payment is received before the due date. Get in the habit of paying the statement as soon as it arrives through your door rather than a few days before the due date.

Your statement should tell you on the back how many days it should take to clear your payment.

If you set up a direct debit, you won't have to worry about it as it will be taken from your bank account automatically.

I am the same except that I had mine in March @£250 and it still the same:cool: despite paying it on time with a mixture of full and sometimes partail payments:cool:

Still keeping my fingers crossed that they might take pity on me sometime soon:rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, I've had this issue too. I have a direct debit set up to clear in full but they've decided to take it late and charge me once, then I changed banks and they decided not to take it at all, writing to tell me this on the day it was due. After several phone calls it was all refunded but its still a hassle. I'm going to close mine soon and get a NatWest student credit card, whose APR is about 1/3 of the vanquis APR.

Just thought I'd write to say after 6 weeks of waiting for Vanquis to make a decision, had a letter today from Capital One giving me my new PIN, I have no idea on limit and got to wait for the card but if I do get the call from Vanquis now, I shall tell them where they can stick it lol. I only need one for credit building so am really happy! For anyone who has had the same problem as me for waiting for Vanquis to make a decision, I applied last week for Capital One and recieved the PIN today.
