You should get the card and pin within two weeks, they rarely arrive within the week.

The APR bands work like this:

You don't pay in full each month, they rape you for interest.

    Pay in full :o

Edit: Methinks that was an OTT comment so I removed it

I maxed mine out today, ooops! Bought a iPhone 3GS on PAYG, so gonna sell my 3G then put money onto credit card - this month I paid a whopping payment of £300!
  • Hold fire with the app's - after 6 years (from original default date) then entry will drop off and be gone forever at which point you'll find credit a little easier to obtain.

Just hold fire for the 6 year period.... ;)

    Hi, me again!

Naughty I know but did apply one more time () for capital one card and got accepted!!! £200 only but its a start! x

I've had mine since May and no increase.

VANQUIS use CAIS so can see how you are performing on other credit accounts each month not just your Vanquis card.

Although my account conduct with Vanquis and all 3rd party creditors has been flawless. My statement balances have been £200 ~ £249.77 was the highest (close!!) but never overlimit, never late, always used the card, been paying in full for the last three months so no interest, but despite having just paid my ninth statement in full there's no sign of an increase.

I've got a complaint outstanding with themselves and their local trading standards. I went through the whole default standard tripe they talk about using it each month, staying within your limit, spending upto the limit, running other accounts well, yada yada yada and they agreed that my accuont conduct should have earned me an increase nearly straight away and they can't understand why it hasn't been done.

I've been given the standard crap about "we can't make a manual decision it's all automatic sorry you'll have to wait" but every time I've stated "That doesn't negate the fact you make a clear cut statement in your advertising slogans about the 4th statement that you have failed to uphold and I consider you in breach of the regulations governing advertising of credit products"... been nearly a month not a peep about the complaint response.

I can see this is yet another thing I'll have to take to the FOS.

And don't get me started about their crap about how to pay zero interest. I was arguing with a bloke on their helpline for half an hour trying to get him to understand "I've cleared the last two bills in full so I shouldn't be charged interest on my next one".. he spoke to his line manager TWICE and BOTH times came back saying I was wrong despite I got him to look up the clause in the credit agreement... he swore blind that I'd have to leave the balance at £0 for a whole billing cycle for the interest to stop... third time he spoke to his manager I got a big apology. If only he'd not been such a stubborn !!!!! neither of us would have wasted 45 mins of our life...

    /rant

EDIT: Thankfully I've missed the £1 charge if a transaction gets applied on statement day... if that happens... by george I think I'll jump on a train to Chatham and give them a good bloody hiding!!!

    What is 'CAIS' ??

    What is 'CAIS' ??

Credit Account Information Sharing (basically the feeds that lenders send/receive from the CRA's every month).... :D However CAIS is the name used by Experian, insight is the Equifax version...

    http://www.experian.co.uk/www/pages/what_we_offer/products/cais_enhancements.html
CAIS refers to the credit account information held by Experian. Lenders provide information on accounts held with their customers. In return, lenders can view the same level of information when they make a search of our records during an application for credit. For example, banks that provide only information on accounts with a history of arrears can view only defaulted and delinquent accounts.
Insight is the name of Equifax's database which holds information provided by credit providers and other lenders, including details of existing and previous credit agreements and historical information about the repayment of these agreements.
