Just been turned down for a Vanquis card, is it worth ringing them to look at it again, or just wait the 6 months?

I've just been accepted for a Vanquis Card, 59.9% APR. I've just been looking through the T&Cs on their website and I don't quite understand this:
Up to 56 days interest-free on purchase transactions only, where you have paid off two or more consecutive current statement balances in full and on time.
AND
You will not pay interest on new purchases if you pay your balance in full and on time.
I thought that if I just cleared the balance in full each month I wouldn't be charged interest? But this 56 day thing suggests otherwise to me. Can someone explain please?0 -

I'm not the best person to reply, but from what I can gather, the 56 days is the 1 month interest free + the time between the bill date and the final payment date.0 -

I thought that was how it worked, but what's this about paying off 2 bills first?
Because otherwise you'll have trailing interest from previous months. It won't affect you if you pay in full every month before the statement date.
But if you don't and carry a balance over from month 1 to month 2, month 2's statement will have interest on that balance. But if you settle in full by month 2's payment date, you will still have interest to pay in month 3 - which is the interest charged between month 2's statement being issued and you making the payment. Settle in full again after month 3's statement, and there's no interest to roll on.
Effectively, you always need to settle a CC bill in full and on time for two months to make sure the third is interest free. Pay in full and on time every month - no trailing interest, transactions interest-free.
Hope that makes sense (or someone can explain it a bit better!).0
