Rang the Boots HQ on +44 (0)115 9506111 & asked to speak to the Customer Care Director, by name (see above post for her name). 'Shared' in some detail my disgust at their service levels & response. >:( >:( >:( Was promised a call back within the hour.

The call did arrive on time :o & have now received the same number of the Champagne Celebration Sets for the same price (less points though!)http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1052409

Not quite what I wanted, but what's a girl to do... ::)

I don't think they were aware of the problem at HQ until I called and stomped my feet.

    Good luck to others

    I got return call

Appears call centre massively under resourced for ehat they must know is a busy time.

Confirmed - "Orders were taken off in waves, so later orders may have been allocated stock whilst earlier orders got cancelled !"

Made various complaints- just told will pass on to "Richard Baker"

does not appear a way to cancel

although they do give a prepaid returns label-

ideal for ordering things , then sending back after Xmas, as a way to get one's own back!

Bah humbug >:( to all at Boots. The substitution was their idea as I refused to be pacified and I insisted that it was their duty to come up with a workable solution for my present crisis this close to Christmas... >:( >:( >:(

I think you need to check when the due date of delivery is, then afterwards, ring the customer service people (be prepared to be on hold for at least 15 mins) & listen to what they have to say :-X.

If they've run out and then mention the dreaded words... £5 voucher or points, refuse & then explain why you think they broke the contract.

Then ring the HQ like I did & share the pain of using their service. When I was on the phone to the care team, they kept telling me that they had solved my 'enquiry', but didn't seem to like it when I refused to classify it as an eqnquiry, but a complaint. I then asked for their formal complaints policy and procedures.

I suggest bypassing the boots.com people once dissatisfied and going straight to the corporate HQ.

What ever you end up doing, don't leave it at vouchers or points, at the very least, make sure the corporate HQ is aware that they have a lot of unhappy >:( customers.

  • they rang me last night to cancel my hampers although my order has been updated this morning on the website to..

    Order date:
    08 December 2004
Expected delivery date: By 10 January 2005   :o
They changed the delivery date by 3 weeks!!

(What am I going to do with 5 christmas hampers in January, if they come)

    BOOTS ARE THE WORST EVER.

    EVER  :)
I started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
  • I also rang HQ - thanks for the number. Lady was very helpful and sympathised greatly, been promised someone will call me back later...hope they do! Didn't take very long to get through to someone.

I want to cancel my orders completely as I've found it cheaper in Argos anyway..but they have still withheld the money so I daren't!
