[CLOSED] - 13/12/04 : Boots Hampers

1- Phone your local trading standards and explain the situation. I was informed that because money had been deducted there was a case of "loss of bargain". Trading standards were also interested that many of the items in the "celebration hamper" were extremely close to sell by date and there was no indication of this on the web site ( I guess this is in focus at the moment with the recent stories on big supermarkets doing similar).
2 - Phone Boots customer care on 0845 070 8090 . this is not Boots.com but they do not appear to answer your phone and you will at least speak to a real person at this number .
3.Go to the Watch dog site http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/
4- Put your complaint in writing as per the previous post to the boots management team.
They state they are looking for seasonal stories and I think a Christmas hamper fits the bill. Log the complaint here if enough people do so ( guess 10 or more) it will make the show.
Although the sums concerned here are fairly small I think it is the principal that is worth arguing for. Any one can set up a web site and promise goods that they are unable to deliver with the hope of delivering just the more expensive items. I also think boots show a tremendous arrogance to their customers and have clearly misled people in regard to stock availability and delivery which has been random at best.Be Kind0 -
Just got my cancellation email for the 2nd order. Had a feeling it would be as it didn't turn up yesterday. Poor customer service really that it took them so long, though not as bad as the rest of you on here who didn't get anything. At least I got 2 from the original order0

I haven't been able to check my emails for a couple of days and my orders are still stating order being processed.
Does anyone know if they change the status to cancelled on line once an email has been sent?

I also had an order cancelled by Boots for a PS2 a few days back despite it having shown stock, I also had the stupid message about there being no stock in the warehouse when the order got down there! Am still awaiting the chilili egg fridge that was apparently half price at £44.99 but is now for sale at £34.99 in Argos. That was 10 days ago, and they also kept authorisations on all the money, despite me emailing them to ask them to remove it.
I will definitely contact Watchdog, I am fuming!

Never mind the sell by date!
Would just liked one to have over Christmas
They've took the money, and now say none in stock.
