  • Don't you just hate it when your computer freezes just after you' ve typed a long post but before you've actually posted it?

    Am rewriting it now...

  • Take two...

    Shaz
You have done the right thing. I would have done the same thing - well, I hope I would have been strong enough to do the same thing.

The way I see it you should be proud of yourself for the following reasons:

    1. It's taken alot of strength to do this
    2. It's probably going to be a good thing for your son in the long run, although it may not seem like it at the moment
    3. No-one has the right to physically hurt anyone else, even if it is your son
    4. You may have prevented him from hurting someone else
    5. Because of what you have said about his behavioural problems, the police will hopefully take a sensitive approach and bring in other agencies
    6. Your son has to understand the full implications and consequences of certain types of behaviour - if you had continued to shelter him, he would not be able to take responsibility for his actions.

I know it is easy for me who has never had kids to say the logical things as I can't possibly understand the emotional turmoil you must be feeling inside. But I really do feel that you have done something very good here for all the right reasons. This is a chance for your son - I really hope things work out for him and that you are able to be a little bit reassured that you are not a dreadful mother for "shopping" him.

I hope the police don't keep you waiting too long - have you got someone with you?

  • It's for the best - he probably needs some time to cool down and you probably need the chance to get your head down and try to relax and get some sleep without worrying that there will be more problems later.

He will come to no physical harm and is safe so try not to worry too much - easy said, I know. It must be awful for you, and you must be an emotional wreck. Will there be anyone you can get some support from tomorrow? Ian? Or a friend / relative? Does your son have any contact with his father - would it help to get him involved?

Please don't beat yourself up - you really have done the right thing although it probably doesn't feel like it.

    Thinking of you

there is more to add to the list, i havent updated it for a few days. can't knit and type wish i could. i tend to knit when i have free time when the boys are at school, or when they are in bed, it helps me to relax, and it helps me, knowing that i have done a little bit towards helping others in the only way i am able at the mo. have always wanted to do voluntary work, but home situation as it is wont allow it.
