My GP once described depression as waves. You get waves of good days and waves of bad days. When you get depression its all bad. As you start to recover, the bad days get less and the good days get more. Don't worry if you get bad times, try to focus on the good days. Make sure you don't overdo things on your good days but enjoy them.
I do find that getting tired brings on bad times for me, so I try to rest every afternoon. I can relate to the nightmares, I sometimes wonder if I'm getting any deep sleep at all as I dream so much. This is just your brain trying to process the emotions you are feeling.
All I can say really is just go with how you feel, if you are tired rest, if you can cope try to do something you enjoy, and during bad times remember they will get better. Try to work out what works for you re coping/feeling better.
I also find that I always get a really bad patch after being ill physically with a cold or whatever.
I hope all this helps xx

i get good days and bad days too, and sometimes overdo things on a good day, and end up suffering the next day or two, when things are bad, its best just to relax and take it easy til next good day comes along, being overtired also makes for bad days.
i have found trying to fit in all the housework along with caring for the kids to be too much, so i have hired a cleaner to take some of the stress away from me. this monday was the first time she had been , and having a clean and tidy house without the hard work was lovely and helps me relax, not worrying that i have to fit everything in

I really need to get to the tax office, but I don't know where my local one is. I looked up on the hmrc website and it gives a postal address of a local one, but I don't know if that means I can go in there and talk to someone? And the phone number is just some awful automated thing. Might have to wait until I get home, as I know there is definitely somewhere there I can go in and speak to someone.
If it has a local phone no., I'd try ringing it after hours and see if the message gives opening hours. ;)

Also it is probably worth persevering with the automated phone number - they are probably splitting calls into employers, employees, self-employed etc.

Which reminds me, need to phone the work tax office on Monday, failed to add it to my little list ...

I just had an intro session with a CBT counsellor yesterday and it was great. It's given me so much hope that I can get better!

I'm going privately bc the waiting list is just silly on the NHS.
