not been a good week for me, cried quite a lot, didn't go to half my classes at uni cos I couldn't get out of bed :( every time I begin to feel ok something or someone sets me back further than before, and the stupidest little things upset me now. Someone I know and really like might be moving to Spain soon as he has been offered a really good job there . Trying to support him as much as I can though.

slept in till about 11 today, and haven't done much other than sit around feeling sorry for myself again. Have managed to strip the bed and remove my nail varnish though, been meaning to do these for a while now so those are todays achievements. My housemates having friends round later so I doubt I'll get much peace tonight.

still feeling lonely. Only have one friend at uni, and keep in touch with about 3 people that I knew from school- I think 90% of people I hung around with have forgotten I exist. Wish I had someone to talk to or go out with occasionally, I like going to the cinema but haven't been since August as I have no-one to go with. Only saw two films last year, and both were ones that the others wanted to see, and I thought I'd give them a go and they might be ok, but they were both pants. Next time someone suggests going to see anything like Mamma Mia or Made of Honour I'm going to stay at home and watch Godzilla instead.

had my second day of my volunteering job this week, it went well and I got a lot of work done but was shattered after it. I got the train there rather than the bus which made it less stressful getting there since the buses are such a mess around Edinburgh because of the tramworks just now.

oh dear that was quite unorganised and rambly wasn't it? oh well it'll have to do xx

I feel exactly the same as you. All i have done today is sit on the sofa.:o
  • Get well soon LM. Don't they call glandular fever the kissing disease or is that something else?

Tulip, you're so lucky to have an ipod nano, bet you can't wait to put some music on there :)

Thank god another week has come to an end. I have a week off work now. Work has been pretty crap. I've felt angry all week and people just seem to frustrate and anger me further. If someone says they are going to do something why can't they just bloody well do it

I've spent practically all day in bed sleeping on and off. I also feel quite sick :(

One positive thing that has happened is my Mum has moved out. I doubt I'll really see her anymore. I'm still trying to move out. Just need money for a deposit.

Casualty is on later Katie, I assume you'll be watching.

  • Hi everyone, sorry it seems a lot of you are having such a bad time at th mo. Big virtual hugs to you!

I've not been too bad, have had two weeks off work so was rested, altho am feeling really tired and grumpy now! I had a nice time in the sunshine with a friend at a local beauty spot, and today I went out this morning with a little girl I know. She keeps asking me to take her out so we finally did. It was actually more fun than I was expecting!

I'm a bit annoyed with work at th mo - they have told me over th phone that because I've missed th last two team meetings due to illness they aren't going to give me any more work in the community until I've been to the next one. I've got three days of courses coming up so I can do them but that's it. The next team meeting isn't till April! I feel it's a bit unfair because nobody told me beforehand that this would happen if I missed two meetings in a row, and I had genuine reasons for missing them, I had a virus th first time and a cold the second time. If someone had told me before I missed them that would be different. I know I'm in a weak position because I'm bank staff and not on a contract, so they don't have to give me the work, but it seems unfair to effectively suspend me without warning me first.

Take it easy Anni, listen to your doctors. Doing too much after having glandular fever can lead to long term problems and has been linked to M.E. in people that don't rest properly after having it.
Hope your baby comes soon Jo
Lots of love to everyone else, hang in there

hi katie, i am ok thanks, ian had the morning off work, and came with me to the dentist, and got my tooth sorted out, the pain is easing now. after that we had a pub lunch, before he had to go to work.
this afternoon, i have seen my mp, and told her how the lack of respite care for my 2 disabled sons was causing my depression, and she has promised to write to socail services, and some other places on my behalf, the fact that both kids are under the pychiatrist and on medication, she said they should automatically be entitled to some respite, especially as i am a single mum doing all the caring on my own.
opened a parcel today, which i have had for a week, but had foirgotten about lol, and got my slippers that i won on this site, unfortunatly silly me, didnt tell them my shoe size, so they are too small for me.

    hugs all

So pleased you got to see your MP this time Shaz. Here's hoping something positive comes out of it.

Get well soon Anni, the best you can do is take it very easy. I had it when I was 16, it took 6 months to recover, although I know others back at school/work after a week if they take it easy enough. It's different in everyone.

Glad you got your new ipod Katie!

Hope everyone is ok this weekend.

<<<<<<Hugs>>>>> to all that need them.

Sorry to hear you have glandular fever Anni. My cousin had it last year and it really knocked him for six for quite a while, fortunately he's over it now.

La-Cara, jhk and rbk another quiet day here, trying to relax so also hardly been out of the house, I think I've been so uptight about baby arriving that I'm convinced my mental state is somehow preventing baby arriving!

Just chilling out at the mo, listening to some music and got house to myself as girls are at my parents (thus being able to relax!) and OH gone off for a drink with his friend for an hour or two, though only 10 mins away just in case!

How true! I am a mother of one as you know - DS. My ex-hubby and I were quite excited because he was due between Christmas Day and New Year's Day and it's also my birthday on Christmas Day. So we waited. And waited.waiting.gif I would have loved to have been just two weeks overdue. Don't you just love it when people stand there and say really stupid things like, ''Have you had the baby yet?''sSc_scarednervous.gif
Finally, I was induced on the Monday and DS finally appeared on the Wednesday - 14th February, St. Valentine's Day!!!speechless-smiley-040.gif This is probably why I just stuck with the prototype, instead of having any more!:rotfl:
Anyway - a little something just for you, hunnie! wink.gif
