I've got an abcess on my tooth and been in agony since last night. Got cancer too so I'm feeling sorry for myself. I'm terrified of going to sleep because I wake up in a panic thinking I'm dying.
I'm not looking for sympathy because a visit to a dentist and some antibiotics will make me feel a lot better. Although I'll have to find a NHS dentist which is nearly impossible locally.

I caught something on Radio 4's Broadcasting House this morning which some of you might find interesting. Apparently Darwin did some work on the expression of emotions, so it all ties in with his 200th birthday celebrations. I'm not going to say more than that because I might stray the wrong side of the medical advice line, but some of you might want to listen again within the next week. I think it was Jonathan Cole who was speaking during the bit I heard, which was in the second half of the programme. I may have missed other interesting bits earlier on.Signature removed for peace of mind0

It sounds like you are going through a difficult time with the cancer and the sleeping and the panicing. I hope you have a restful night's sleep tonight. Do you wake up in the middle of the night panicing, is it a nightmare that causes it, or is it in the morning?
Try to make sure you are in a relaxed frame of mind before bed. Have a bath, read a book, listen to some relaxing music. If there is something worrying you, write it down and tell yourself you will deal with it in the morning.
Your body is dealing with all the stress you have been under, in time I'm sure these panics will pass as you recover from the cancer and your mind heals from the trauma of having such a serious illness.
Lots of love and a big hug to you :A"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hi all
Just been catching up with posts. Had a busy weekend, been doing painting and more nesting (LOL). I'm in a good frame of mind at the moment, feeling very excited about the prospect of baby arriving and working on keeping that positivity and control. I won't go into it any more (for fear of boring everyoneand of thinking about it too much) but suffice to say labour isn't the anxiety-provoking thing it was a few months ago for me, my home birth is good to go and I feel confident of dealing with things well when they finally happen.
Hugs to everyone who needs them :grouphug:

shaz- hope you're ok, I know you've had a tough time recently so don't feel guilty about having a drink. Hope your kids enjoy their week off
jo- hope the birth goes ok, glad you aren't too scared about it, I know I would be terrified! do let us know when your sprog pops out!
mezer- I know how you feel about having housemates who don't seem to care. Worst thing about mine is when I'm upstairs feeling awful, I can always hear them screaming with laughter downstairs which makes me feel even worseHope tomorrow is a better day for you
katie- sounds like you've had a lovely day. I too enjoy reading your posts every day :T I know what you mean about Anni, will maybe send her a message on Facebook later, I know she's been ill this week so maybe that's why she's not around.
I'm feeling a bit better today, slept in till 12 so I think that helped. Chatted to a few people on the phone today, was good to catch up with them.
Got a busy day tomorrow, plenty of things to be done for the event I'm organising for my course- it's in 2 weeks and we haven't sold any tickets yet  quite a few people have shown an interest in buying tickets so hopefully we'll get a good turn out on the night.
hope everyone is well (or as well as they can be) xx0 -

Hi
Has the name been changed back?
Off to hospital later, seeing a house and going to the bank to verify my ID. I have only had an account with them for 2 years - the idiots:(
I have a sore throat, so coming down with a cold.
Feel OK tho. Had a quiet weekend. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I find it fairly easy to control my emotions these days, it is what the idiots throw at me/us that gets to me. I want them to effing well leave me alone or up their standards, I want to be invisible so I can move forward with my life, rather than have to deal with all the useless people.
Does anyone find that there are far more people out there these days who can't do their job properly, yet there is high unemployment? Why are all the useless people in work, yet people with intelligence seem to be unemployed? And don't get me started on Indian Call Centres - that was when the rot set in.
When I was growing up, the standards were so blooming high. No off days or mistakes were allowed, so I learned to up my standards.
These days, so much slapdash goes on and mistakes we have to spend ages sorting out due to the amount of idiots we have to deal with. Of course, we still get it in the neck if we mess up, yet have to accept the rubbish out there:(An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I agree CCStar. I was put through to an Indian call centre once and the lady had such a thick accent I could hardly understand what she was saying. She asked for my "date of birth" but the way she said it, it sounded completely different! After she repeated it a couple of times I said "Do you mean my birthday?" and she said "No, your date of birth!"
Ive got to go to the jobcentre tomorrow to sign on for my Jobseekers Allowance. They know Im not looking for a job but are encouraging me to pretend basically. However, I haven't signed on before and don't know what to expect. Has anyone had experience of this? Do they grill you and get annoyed if you haven't been for interviews? I was just going to tell them I was looking in the paper and on the internet so far. This is such a load of rubbish that I have to do this whilst Im waiting for my IB tribunal. Im going to get quite upset when I go tomorrow - I just hope I don't burst into tears.0
