Wouldnt it be better to say "learn to live without depression" ?
For a lot of people it's not a case of learning to not be depressed, so if there's something that can help you cope with it...They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
AB, you are very pedantic!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

morning all, hope everyone is well, been awfully quiet in here, have you all go on hols without me?? :rotfl:
still in pain from having the tooth out last friday, and the antibiotics, are making me feel light headed and dizzy, very tired, and even more forgetful than usual.
not seen ian for a week now, and missing him like mad, going shopping with him tommorrow, and out tommorrow night. text him yesterday to tell him how unhappy i am with the relationship over last couple of weeks, as he seems to have been able to make time for lads nights out and not me. half expected him to finish with me dunno why, but i know he likes the single life, and to be honest i like my own space too, but i would like to see him a couple of times a week. anyway he rang me back and we had a good chat, and he said he dont like been pushy like my ex was by asking to come over all time, and we have sorted it out now, he is going to come over more often when shifts allow, still allowing us both some free time.
glad we sorted it, as i love him so much, AND we are going on our first holiday together in april, scary thought a full week with him and the kids lol
hugs all

I think AB just tells it straight and I'm assuming he doesn't suffer from depression but works with people who do. I don't always agree with his posts but they do help add a new angle to the way we see / read some posts, I alwyas find his altenative views interesting.0 -

This is what I think. I would never wish depression on my worst enemy but I really think it would be interesting if AB did get depression because I would like to see if any of his views would change - I really think he would change his mind about some of the things he has said on here!
I don't mean that his depressed mind would see things differently. If he suffered with a bout of it and then recovered and was feeling ok and then read back on some of his posts here I think he would surprise himself at how differently he sees depression.
I hope Ive explained this clearly - Im not wishing you ill, AB!!! I just think that if a depressed person were to see two psychologists/medical professionals and one had suffered with depression and one hadn't, you would get two very different points of view and the one that had suffered with the condition would be more helpful.0 -

hi everyone
please may I join you, I have been lurking for a while and just wanted to say hi,
my doctor told me a few weeks ago she thinks I am seriously depressed and perhaps she aint wrong !!
I feel like I am going mad, does anyone else wake with the total utter panic in their stomach, I am on sickness benefit and DLA what has led to my latest crisis is being advised to phone the dla to see if I can get my care componant raised as I was origianlly put on it in 2002 and my symptoms have worsened, the guy I spoke to told me they could either increase it decrease it or stop it altogether, now I think should I bother coz if they stop it I can afford to live literally!! I am so panicked!!
anyway, thats my splot on the carpet, hope everyone feeling good today nice to know your out there supporting each other though :-)0
