Most of my errors were, as said by another poster, in areas I have no dealings with anyway - the areas that do affect me, I got right, so I'm happy enough.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
Yes! I got 19/25 (IQ 182)
Sent a printscreen to my other half to show off....she just laughed that i had MSE my emails and a calculator open. She asked if I had no work to do
My reply: This is work -it's the groundwork for our future!:money:
Cheesy i know - but if we dont know these things then how will we save so much money so that we can spend it on things that please us most!0 -
11/25...
That actually hurt quite a lot - thought I did ok0 -
Hi folks,
Glad you're enjoying it. We thought long and hard about the questions, to try and get balance of subjects and difficulty - and also to subtly teach people a little in the answers.
To answer a couple of queries yes your score will move over time - the IQ is dependent on how you performed compared to other moneysavers, so the more people who do it the better sample we have meaning those at the higher and lower ends are likely to move a little.
Glad no one has asked why some people with higher scores get lower IQs. As the questions are weighted (we did that by an earlier sample checking which ones people got right and wrong, and then giving more marks for the ones fewer got right)

I think I need to read the airmiles cf reward points guide. I wonder if the airmiles valuations are based on the airlines standard fares or the amount you are actually like to pay for a flight having shopped around?
Are there any points for how quickly you do the quiz, I didn't bother to work out the percentage ones but then did the whole quiz in less than 3 minutes...I think....0 -
The BT phone call cost?
If it's 4p a minute for the second hour plus 6p connection isn't that £2.46 and not £2.35? Where am I going wrong?0 -
Oooooo I got 14/25 and a moneysaving IQ of 122.
Am pretty pleased with that :-)
Esp considering I work fora mobile phone company and thus get free phone+calls so I don't have a landline .... and there were two questions about BT / call charges rates!!=====================================

Nitpicking here... question 7 - I don't agree with the answer given. The question asks "Which is the WORST pound for pound deal...", no mention of buying 3 boxes. Indeed, volume should be irrelevant, and you're now looking at cost value over the deal. So, the Maths I did:
Lets say weight = x and each pack of x grams costs £1.
For A to be effective, you buy two packs. 3x = £2. So your pound is worth 1.5x grams (value ratio only).
For B, you only have to buy 1 pack, but spend less. So x = 0.77. Which means your value ratio is 1.29x = £1.
For C, you get 40% extra on 1 pack. So 1.4x = £1.
Now, looking at the cost ratio there I'd say B was the worst. However, it all really depends on if you were comparing these deals based on what you wanted to spend, what you wanted to buy, or which was the worst money for quantity calculation.

I got 17/25 and and IQ of 151. I'm dead chuffed with that. Some of the questions I got wrong, such as the BT free weekend calls one are of no relevance to me as I don't use BT's weekend tariff so I wouldn't be aware of it.
The answer to the credit card minimum payments one is scary. 60 years :eek:Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
