Virgin mobile £8.50/month 100 mins/texts contract inc. handset.

My wife is very interested in the Virgin contract and is unlikely to go outside of the included minutes. She's more concerned about battery life and how long the battery will last before it becomes useless like on her current Nokia (which she's had for two years and the battery can't last a day on standby!).
Any ideas which of these would be best for her? I'm inclined towards the Nokia personally but are the Samsungs or LG any good?
I have the Samsung and I love it, camera is very good, mine came with cable just load disk on computer plug in phone and you can upload photos in seconds, battery lasts ages, and gives you plenty of warning when it is going to give out. I was a huge Nokia fan (never had anything else) so the texting took a bit of getting used to but I've got to say, the Samsung G600 is one if not the best phone I've had yet! :T :rotfl: :T Bagpusspinki x0 -
I couldn't agree more with the above.
T-mobile coverage is the worst, and then comes Three. Irony is, both these companies currently offer cheapest tariffs to attract customers. Once they join, they learn the lesson for 12 months. Very good.
If you are serious about coverage, I would suggest Vodafone, knowing how serious they are about their infrastructure and quality of service.
If you are prepared to keep the phone near the window always, go for virgin its cheap and thats what you pay for and get from.
funny, i work for virgin, the number of calls that come in about poor coverage are such a small % of the calls that I would say it isn't a major issue
I can only go by the calls that go into the call centre day in day out 365 days a year0 -

I agree, I have the LG KC550 & my wife has the Samsung. The Samsung is a far superior phone & is better quality than some phones found on £20 monthly tarriffs at virgin & all other networks - I just wish I had got the samsung0 -
The one that virgin send is it locked to them, so for example would I be able to sell a phone locked into virgin, I don't want to change my phone so would want the sim in my current virgin phone. Could I say include a virgin sim with the phone?
If you want to keep your current phone then why don't you phone virgin up & ask for a sim only deal to be added onto your current sim

£10 for 200 200 on a monthly contract is better than £8.50 on an 18 month contract0 -

I too have been looking at the samsung, it's so hard to choose as there are many differnt reviews of the phone with mixed ratings, I will look into the £10 Sim as I'm assuming that they change the phones on offer so may wait and just keep an eye on what they offer in the future.
The problem I've found is that I haven't had a mobile for years so finally decided to get a PAYG and well I just can't believe how Fab! they are now. So now finding that I'm searching for one that has a good camera a possible video record to catch those moments with the children, when you haven't taken the digital camera. ILike the nokia organiser and the fact i can record my spending as i do it and the birthday reminders, and best I'm able to take a photo of the children having fun and send to my OH who's stressed at work to bring a smile to his face.Kind Regards

I have had the G600 for 18 months now and it has been a good phone, I have just ordered the G600 for my wife and promised delivery next day (today ) ? unlike 3 you get a trial period with the phone so if the reception is poor it goes back ! tried a 3 sim and the reception was good in our area but I feel this is a better deal with better phone ? ordered the broadband mobile also with virgin at the same time only £5 a month great offer + if you order 2 items you only pay one postage0 -
