I wouldn't worry about your contract with Something Corporation. They're on the verge of being closed down. They are trading whilst insolvent which is illegal - they can't afford to pay their bills when they fall due - and that is why you keep losing your service. Get yourself booked in with a reputable service provider. Cheap is not cheap if you do not get what you are paying for.0

This sounds very similar to my experience with Something Corp. I had problems after a lightning strike, I can't complain as they did come out and replace the damaged parts, but they entered the wrong password into the system. I was later given a password to enter via the telephone ( on another 'phone line, not theirs! ), which again turned out to be the wrong one!!
Eventually they did send an engineer out , after sometime he discovered what was the problem and after castigating them over the 'phone entered the correct password and every thing now works, except I get " insufficient credit when trying their 'phone.
In the mean time I have changed banks, all direct debits being transferred over, all, that is except Something Corp. which came up as " unavailable "???
My dilemma now is, do I now inform Something Corp. of the change and give them new Bank info' or do I just keep quiet????0 -

I have been told that Something has gone into liquidation that is why you cannot ring out I am in the same boat. One of Somethings engineers rang on told me that all engineers had been dismissed last Friday, My broadband is still working but my phone is not, I have moving to a new provider and have cancelled my direct DebitHaving problems calling out today; not enough credit even though the package signed up for is for Unlimited Calls.
Called 'something' and they said there was a network technical 'glitch' and promised to fix it... for the 10th time. Also, tried to call 999 at the weekend, 3 times and couldn't connect.
Have tried today to switch suppliers but we don't have an active line anymore so need to contact 'something' and to get them to reactivate it.
This is not my system, I'm just trying to help someone who got conned in to thinking 'something' represented Sky and could offer a better deal.
Don't touch them.0 -
I believe Something has gone into liquidation and are no longer trading they have dismissed all their engineers last Friday0

I misguidedly signed up to Something. They are a genuine company and have real people/ delivered real hardware (router etc) to my house. However, the service is absolutely awful - grindingly slow line speeds leading to no effective tv and nonexistent internet at busy times (all evening), dodgy systems that keep failing and cutting off the phone and appalling help response.
DON'T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE
Worth spending more on a service that works!0 -
I will like to inform you all that as of thursday 22/10/09 Something corporation closed down. I was unfortunate to work for this company. The main boss was David Reynolds. I and many other staff were transfered from 1st-Satellite Direct uk ltd (who were voluntarily wound up with debts of £27million!!!)2nd-Sat cover ltd(this company went into liquidisation about 4 weeks ago), finally we were transfered to Something corporation. Most of the staff of the above named companies have not been paid for 7weeks-I am one of them. The company did not even have the courtesy to let me know the company had closed. I found out on fri 23rd oct via another engineer. Watch out for the name DAVID REYNOLDS-KEEP AWAY FROM THIS MAN-DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!HE IS A CON MERCHANT!0

Sorry to hear your tale of woe, but it's reassuring to hear someone confirm what's happening with this company. All the engineers I've encountered from Something Corp. have been very good, it's a pity they have all lost jobs.0

in june i was called on my house phone as i was running out the door quikly picked it up. was something corporation which i had no clue at the time as they strait away started to talk about my sky box and its warrenty. when i said i didnt need a warrenty they said how about phone and broadband. i accepted as i was ment to call sky that week and sort it. so i gave my card details and waited. the money was taken from my account and a letter stating that evrything would be installed withing 2 weeks. when i noticed it wasnt sky headlined paper instead said SOMETHING. I realised it wasnt right. i called sky who had said they had no payment for me for broadband etc as i couldnt get it from them anyway. I then pannicked n searche dthem online finding this forum. managed to finally get through to them and every person i spoke to seemed to be a manager!!! yet no one could refund my money? i stopped my direct debits and have been calling then since june for refund!! last week i got a guy called craig who promised he would sort it and get the money in my account. NOTHING so all day ive been calling today no answer!! do they exsist anymore from the last post saying liquidisation??? im just so angry they have my money and can use skys name!!0

likeastar-I can assure you that this company has closed down. i only hope you werent conned by this company for too long which happened to 000's of customers nationwide. i was a field based engineer that worked for satellite direct/sat cover ltd/sat link services/something corproration.the md or owner of all these companys was Dave Reynolds. i can assure you that i knew nothing of the corrupt ways the company operated until the closure. i have many, many customers that were happy with my work and the way i spoke to them/give them advice. i can only apologise to all for the way the companies treated all customers.any questions you may have please feel free to post and iwill answer them.0
