Anyone know anything about Something broadband?
They rang me up offering line rental and broadband for £14.99 inc. free phone calls to 01 and 02 numbers. Sounds too good to be true.
They said go to www.something.info to get information about them and they will ring me back later.

Hi Geoff ( and any other readers) - was wondering if you have found out more, or even if you took up any offers with this company. I too have been called but was a little wary at the approach.
I was contacted by a caller 'reminding' me that the warranty on my sky digibox was about to run out. I knew that wasn't right as we only upgraded to Sky HD last July so would still be well within the manufacturers warranty.
Having politely pointed this out to the caller, I was asked about my phone and broadband, and was basically offered a very good deal that would resolve a current issue I have re my various services being provided by different companies and wanting to bring them all under one roof ( I thought I was dealing with a Sky subsiduary on the phone at the time I should add)
It was only when the lady started talking about not needing a BT line that I realised that the offer was not for Sky broadband, and that the company 'Something' was then mentioned.
I have tried to research them, and as you will know if you followed the link you published to their website, it all 'seems' to be a genuine company, but I can't find out much more about them.
Just a bit wary of getting had over if honest, and wondered if anyone has any experience of, or info about, this company..
Thanks in advance.
PS: Finally debt free - but only due to a bereavement sadly. The trick now is to be more savvy and careful with my money. Good luck to all who are struggling with their debt!0 -
Hi Everyone - I was wondering if any of you have heard of a broadband provider named 'SOMETHING'.
I was contacted by a caller 'reminding' me that the warranty on my sky digibox was about to run out. I knew that wasn't right as we only upgraded to Sky HD last July so would still be well within the manufacturers warranty.

It was only when the lady started talking about not needing a BT line that I realised that the offer was not for Sky broadband, and that the company 'Something' was then mentioned.

I've just had an automated call offering all-in Broadband, TV and Phone for £7.99 a month for first 3 months then £13.99 thereafter - plus £11.50 a month line rental. http//something.info gives the details.
Provided by company called Something Corporation. Partnered with Cable and Wireless and Seimens. Looks like a brand new company - founded 12th December 2008. Seems to be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Claims up to 12Mb Broadband.0 -
I was contacted by this company a few weeks ago. They are genuine as I know of someone who has taken out a package with them.
I decided not to go ahead with them as Sky brought out the ridiculously cheap HD offer.
But they seem the real deal, just newbies in the marketplaceTotal Reclaimed from banks and credit cards so far: £14139 :T
Amount outstanding £550 :beer:0 -
My dad tried to sign up with these people. After giving his bank details he was told that someone would be round to install his equipment and get him up and running within a week. After four months and four charges being taken from his account he has now had to go through his bank to stop the direct debit as he hasnt heard from them since! After phoning hundreds of times he finally got someone to answer the phone and was told that he would recieve a confirmation letter soon. He has recieved nothing and now is going through the small claims court to get his money back!:mad:0

Had a call from them yesterday. Either they have never heard of the Telephone Preference Service, or they don't care about it. Good enough reason to have absolutely nothing to do with them.Je suis Charlie.0

Did they call you out of the blue? I wouldn't buy anything from a cold call or a door-to-door salesman.0

Sounds like a great deal but I'm always weary of new companies especially ones that make contact via a cold call. As bazster said, if they are already ignoring the telephone preference service (which is illegal as far as I'm aware), then that doesn't say much about their level of professionalism.
If there's not much of a difference between packages, I tend to stick to the more well known providers.0 -
I had a cold call from them Saturday morning and immediately said no just to get rid. I hate automated diallers. Did some research and found some info. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to post links to the sources.

Apologies for blatantly breaking the rules, but I feel this is quite important.
