Changes of years or bank holidays haven't previously affected orchids ???
Sorry, I meant that BT are supposed to be no longer allowing CPS in 2014 (which may be why they have dropped their requirement for 2 chargeable calls per month, because you can't do it anyway). The other part of my post (about it being a bank holiday) should be ignored (because I was wrong)

Where have you seen that bt are supposed to no longer allow cps?
If that comes to pass they will give notice.0 -
They were being forced to allow it and they no longer are:
I can't post links, but digital spy thread 1894107 covers this subject
If you no longer are getting your calls via your CPS, then your Orchid will still "allow" you to make the call, so you will be unaware at the time you call, but it will be carried by BT, and you will get the bill for it from BT.
(This topic of Ofcom intending that BT no longer have to offer CPS and IA is discussed in this thread above #768, but so far as we are aware no announcement regarding this has been forthcoming from BT. The requirement to make calls via BT to keep free caller display is because the caller display is no longer free after 4/1/14. Maybe you put 2 qnd 2 together but got 5??)0 -

Or, from the horse's mouth: http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/consultations/nmr-13/statement/statement-summaryTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

I'm definitely getting the 0p per minute message on connection, so it must be OK at the mo.(This topic of Ofcom intending that BT no longer have to offer CPS and IA is discussed in this thread above #768, but so far as we are aware no announcement regarding this has been forthcoming from BT.
Do you think the'd give advance notice then? The requirement to make calls via BT to keep free caller display is because the caller display is no longer free after 4/1/14. Maybe you put 2 qnd 2 together but got 5??)
I wonder if Martin could get primus to commit to another year of allowing CPS etc, then I'd feel comfortable changing come March when my advance line rental runs out.0 -

You look to be referring to IA (indirect access), which is where you use a 18185 type service not CPS.
(Though ofcom have said that bt will be allowed to prevent their use too (as well as CPS).
It would seem inevitable that bt will want to take advantage of this, but will undoubtedly give some notice.0 -
I have an old V4 which I haven't really used since the manufacturer sadly pulled the rug... sounds as if they are still reasonably sought after(?) so I thought I might stick it on ebay rather than bin it.
However, I can't remember whether it has sensitive information loaded onto it, and if so, I ought to wipe it first. Can anybody advise how to do that please (if it's indeed necessary/advisable?)
Thanks!0 -
As far as we know nothing incriminating is held or can be revealed.
You can wipe the carrier codes table by entering **#0000*2222*6 and the routing table by entering **#0000*1111*60
