Afternoon has anyone noticed any pattern to ryanair's fare changes? ie they're £5 at the moment - do they always go up after £5 or can they go up or down. It seems a while since the 1p flights but there again I'm not looking All the time (just most of it!) I would be interested if anyone had charted this over the months.
  • Ryaniar flights can go up as well as down and it can be a bit of pot luck. One thing that I have noticed that if you are going to a desination that has several flights a day like dublin or stanstead it is often the same flights that are reduced and they are often the very early or very late ones. The key to getting a good deal with Ryaniar is to try and get one inclusive of charges and that can often be the one with a higher headline figure. Good luck. I am currently awaiting deals for June. Every other year I have booked in January and they are lowered later this year will be the exception and I'll end up with nothing.

Even for those who claim to have charted Ryanair's prices over several months there is absolutely no way of telling whether the fares will go up or down. Ryanair follows a dynamic pricing structure, and I don't even think the airline itself plans its offers particularly far in advance. My advice is to book when you're happy, then forget about it. The worst thing you can do is check back to see if it's gone down! If there's a £5 flight at a time that suits you to a place you want to go, book it while you can. £10 return is still great value, after all.

Want to book flight from Liverpool or Manchester to Palma for daughter and her bf, flying out 13th June 2009 and flying back 20th June 2009. Today, with Ryanair, the outward flight is £59.80 pp incl taxes and fees, but the inward flight is only £21.72pp incl taxes and fees . Obviously there will be other charges on top of this for baggage etc. My inclination is to book the inward cheaper flight now and wait and see whether prices for the outward journey come down , either with Ryanair or one of the many other carriers that fly from L'pool/Man to Palma.

What does anybody think of this strategy?

Since they are on a tight budget, I would like to get the best deal for them if poss.

    Thanks

Budget airline flights increase the closer you get to the day of departure.

There is a flight out with easyJet on the same day for £52. If they can leave the night before or the morning after it's £42.

Ryanair seem to play about with their prices so much, I wondered if there could be another 'Bargain Flight Deal' between now and then, since it's still 3 months away and there seems to be lots of seats across the board on this particular route.

I've seen the Easyjet £42 Sunday one, a better price, but daughter has the accomodation from Saturday 13th so it would be nice to make the most of it!

The really cheap fares tend not to appear on the most popular routes (obvious really). Most of the Spanish hot-spots rarely appear in the bargain buckets, especially Palma and especially in summer. In other words, something drastic would have to happen before they offered 1p or even £10 fares on your flight.
  • I got a 2p return flight including taxes on a popular route.

I see they took out Berlin on the super cheapo offers now.

I've booked with Ryanair for a trip next month - got a good deal but see in todays newpapers they are now charging £1 for having a pee during the flight! Advice is tell daughter not to have a drink onboard!
