  • the more i think about it the more i think it must be a stunt as because he serves food isnt the law the case that he has to provide jacks on his flying buses for free?

we have a 22 month old and we would definately change her in the aisle as a matter of principle rather than pay mucker a yo-yo for use of the jacks-im sure other passengers/victims would love that!

i would take an empty plastic bottle with me too!!

i would however pay big money for mucker to remove the 11 (yes thats 11 on a 1hour flight) bullseye baggies adverts and starfish telecom propaganda i had to listen to recently out of gatwick...and dont get me started on the "now you too can be a millionaire with ryanair..."

O'Leary is taking the !!!! with this one. In any case the coin slots represent extra expenses. Surely it's more likely that he'll have the booking system amended so you can pre-book loo use

BUT - will pooling be allowed?
  • I heard this on the radio and thought this is a nail in the coffin. I do not intend to fly with this company for all the hassle that it brings.

A toilet tarrif, its the last word in inconvienience.

When I read about RyanAir considering charging for using the on-board toilet, I had to glance at my calendar to check the date.

Nope! It ain't April Fool's Day.

    I agree, it's a publicity stunt.

If not, then I guess folks could always just carp in their seat to save £1 (just before getting off of course). After all, Ryanair flights have such a thorough clean between turn-arounds. Honest.

Actually, I see a business oportunity developing here - flying on Ryanair flights, holding the toilet door open between visitors and only charging 'em 50p each. Plus extra for toilet roll of course ;)

How about charging them extra to pay by credit/debit card?

Pay one fee if you buy them at time of booking, double that at the airport, different rates for number 1s & 2s, extra for toilet paper, soap, water & towels, no refunds of unused loo breaks - and definitely no pooling

The word is 'might', it is a publicity stunt!

The charges for large hand luggage bags are more likely IMHO.

    At last, a sensible reaction.

This bit in the Telegraph article made me smile:
Rochelle Turner, head of research at Which? Holiday, condemned the proposal.
"It seems Ryanair is prepared to plumb any depth to make a fast buck and, once again, is putting profit before the comfort of its customers,” she said. “Charging people to go to the toilet might result in fewer people buying overpriced drinks on board, though - that would serve Ryanair right.”

I've not noticed masses of people buying drinks on the RyanAir flights I've taken so I can't see that hitting their profits.

It amazes me that as soon as the flight has taken off there is a queue for the toilets. Don't they go before they get on the plane? For myself I am happy not to have any drinks on board and happy not to go to the loo (or pay if I really need to go) if it helps keep the fares down.

I think Ryanair offer something that people want - low fares and I am fully in support of them doing their best to keep the costs down. I have never had any bother flying with them and in fact their flights are more often than not on time unlike some of the more expensive airlines.
