    That would be :)

    (I suppose if it was on a netbook, my power consumption would be a bit lower :) )
    Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.
  • The Starter Edition isn't going to be available retail, so you don't have to worry about the application limit. Home and Professional are what's going to be predominantly on the shelves. Nice, simple choice for anyone going into a shop to buy it, well done again MS!
  • ^ you know this as fact or rumour, I've seen nothing official?

    Confirmed;

    Home Basic - Emerging Markets only
    Starter - OEM only
    Home Premium - OEM/Retail
    Professional - OEM/Retail
    Ultimate - Limited Retail/Possible OEM
    Enterprise (aka Ultimate) Volume Licensing

    Tada!

    Wow, not confusing the hell out of your customers, what a fantastic idea.

    Consider me unimpressed.

    I do seem to recall however, that some of the Microsoft fans on here took me to task a while ago for suggesting that it might be better if Microsoft made their Windows editions simpler.

    As simple as MOC?
    Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

    The Macedonian Orthodox Church?
  • that doesn't look a bad lineup, basically home premium and professional on the shelves of pcworld and the other box-shifters, with the other versions available at specialists/hardware vendors etc..
