cost us £5each. Where did you find the apple mouse for £3?
You said you replaced the Apple mice for 1/10th of the cost. Apple mice are about £30. Ergo, your replacement mice cost less than £3. Which they didn't obviously.
Do try to keep up, there's a good chap.Cost more to return them than buy microsoft ones - we held an apple conference here a few years ago and even they said that the mice were not built to last. It's the wire that breaks at the usb end and the mouse endMy £250 quad core is hooked up to my 42 inch 1080p TV through my HDMI output on the ATI card and games run much better and look much better than a PS3 or XBOX 360.I don't really class the Mac as a true computer when they look like this
I mean, it couldn't be more divorced from reality if you tried (are you trying?), but it did give me a good laugh.
You do realise, there are museums that have Macs on display as works of art, because they're designed so well?
I'd love to see a photo of your computer though. I'm sure it's *ahem* interesting. A PC user making fun of how Macs look; now I really have heard everything. Classic stuff.
Still, if beige boxes are your thing, knock yourself out.But I use my computer for high end stuff so why would I want that anyway? The fact that the Mac has only just got up to mid level PC speeds (by using intel chips) gives you the reason why old slow Macs would run OSX - PC hardware changes very quickly and now Mac have seen the light they will also.
Eight 3.2 GHz cores is "mid level"?
Are you high?
The reason one would want to use old Macs today is to save money. So you don't have to buy a new computer every 18 months. That's why owning a Mac can be very moneysaving.0 -
Adebisi could you tell us all where you got this £250 quad core beast with X-Box 360 beating graphics from? I'd love one.
Currys end of line deal off Hot UK Deals (it had been opend I thik but not used)
then stuck a £50 ATI 4670 again off Hot UK Deals
I got it last summer around July and the GFX card a bit later it was cheaper than I could have built one for but I am thinking of getting a new mother board and a better cooler so I can over clock it to 3.5+ Ghz. I got it to play bluray images on my TV but it played games really well. When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?0 -

If they're under Applecare, they send a courier to pick them up with no cost. Sounds like you wasted a lot of money.
Not on mine it doesn't.
I use my computer to make money. I don't play games with it.
Haha...that's actually kind of amusing.

But if I spent what you did on your Mac my PC would try and take over the world and I would have to play tic tac toe until it rebooted after a BSOD.When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?0 -
Also I was not commenting on how a Mac looks just on the level of the typical Mac user. When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?0

You can buy a Mac for less than £400 you know. It's not like they're unbelievably expensive.
Now, if you want to buy RAM from Apple, then it's remortgage time.0 -

I know and with the Hackintosh files being so much easier to install and more 3rd party and user created drivers available than a few years ago I am sure quite a few people will have dual boot systems soon.
For my marking hackintosh has really helped I can leave my Mac Mini on my desk and give the course Mac book to my other staff. When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?0 -
Does the hackintosh system work just like a "regular" install?
I have considered buying a netbook and installing OS X on it, in lieu of the money to buy a MacBook.0 -

Yer it's really easy. I don't know what a regular install is like on a mac but it was easy for me just had to find the driver for the wireless. Some things are harder to get working I hear but I had no problems. Lot's of my students are using them now and spending their student loans on beer instead. When the bloody hell is nelly coming back?0 -
I've just installed Windows 7 beta to dual boot with Vista Ultimate.
All was well until I decided to load Kaspersky AV for Windows 7.
It seems however that Kaspersky are not updating their Widows 7 databases beyond 24/12/08 !!
Now Windows 7 crashes/restarts on boot up - the dreaded blue screen.
Which AV are others using here?0 -
using the KIS win7 tech preview here...latest update...er...16/02/2009.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0
