I've been low-carbing for about 3 years now. I started at 21 stone and in my first year I lost about 10 stone and got down to a size 14! Now I'm heading for 7 stone (1/3 of my original body mass). Low carbing was the only thing that worked for me and I swear by it now
Good luck EthelBloggs0 -
Hi Loopylass,
Thanks for that recipe. :T Have you tried them and I wonder how many I will need to eat to satisfy my choccie addiction?
I have been munching on dried figs(very yummy)-i daren't think how many sins each of those have. :undecided0 -
Hello all
just wanted to share something with you....................
yesterday I was walking around the supermarket and saw some edible delight on the shelves.I moaned to myself that I couldn't have it and then I remembered something I'd read on here.
Somebody posted that they didn't bother focusing on foods they couldn't eat but focused on what they could have...................and so I thought 'yep, that's what I'm going to do'.
 I felt inspired and I've decided that i'm not going to say to myself "Oh I can't have that" but instead " I choose not to have that because that will be an obstacle to me getting slim, which is what I want more than anything at the moment" (or something to that effect).
I'm sorry I can't remember who the poster was but I give you my thanks.:T
And whatever it was I saw was obviously so wonderful that I can't for the life of me remember what it was0 -

Hi All,
Lost another 2lbs last night at ww. Annoyed tho, as I know it could have been more. I hardly did any exercise last week and had a bit of a blow out on a pub lunch with a friend, eating a Chicken Tikka Masala with Profiteroles for dessert and 2 glasses of wine!!
Got a meal out this week with a large group of friends for Hubby's birthday, so I think I will need to cut down for the next few days.Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -

Hi LL,
I am on ww and do quite enjoy it. Have done diet for 2 weeks now and lost 9lbs so far. Have been staying to class, as it is a brilliant way to get me focused.
I can't cope with no count either. I find it too restrictive. I love points counting, definitely the easiest way to do the diet and it means that last night I was able to have a peanut butter kit kat (totally scrummy btw) at 5.5 points and I stuck to my points for the day!Sorting my life out to give a better life to my:heartsmil 2 gorgeous boys :heartsmil0 -
Sorry everyone. I think I've confused the issue here! I'm not at class and am trying to follow the SW diet.
The last diet class I went to 2 yrs ago was WW, and it was there I was told maybe I wasn't eating enough to lose weight.
So I was checking SW site for syns on the 'celebration' chocs with no luck. I didn't eat any in the end and going by what I'm saying I probably could have done and still been in my allowance/syns for the day.
LLWe are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................0 -
LLillie - Can't find celebrations on the syns online thing either. Couldn't find maltesers the other day (ended up finding them in basic foods though). I'm sure i've seen the value for celebrations in a magazine or SW book though so someone may come across it. Well done for resisting though!
Flis - anything after losing 1/2 stone in a week will be a disappointment. 2lbs is a good weekly loss and it's healthier to aim for small achievable targets such as 1 or 2lb per week than be disappointed when you don't manage a bigger target. Don't get me wrong - i have complained when i haven't lost as much as i thought i might but i try to squish the disapointment and concentrate on the fact that i'm not hungry and that if i keep it up then all the weight will go eventually.
Hurrah for losses (fingers crossed - my weigh in is tonight)0
