    Hi everyone,
    Happy Mother's Day.
Having put on a fair bit of weight over the last couple of years I have decided to bite the bullet (a low calorie one of course) and go on yet another diet. As luck would have it, I won a Scottish Slimmers cookbook, which has some nice-looking recipes, but I don't know what the -checks- mean. Can anyone enlighten me please?

A check is calculated as 25 kcal and depending on your starting weight you get a certain number of checks to use in a day. Hope this helps - any more questions just ask!

Ah Suewre, I'm also sorry to hear about the job, but agree with the others, look on it as good experience, it's pretty scary just walking through the door and there'll be other things along! Whatever you do, lay off the comfort food!

Thanks everyone, I am fed up with having good experience of interviews. I want experience of a pay packet.

Anyway, foodwise it has been ok. I have had a couple of cups of coffee, and just had a bowl of homemade carrot and parsnip soup (I would have had another one, but my 10 year old son wanted the rest!) and I have a bowl of defrosted berries, with a chopped up banana and two (yes two) weightwatchers yoghurts stirred in waiting for me when I want it.

I have also had a bit of a blub, and have rang NextStep, to see if they could help - I don't fit into any of their categories for a face-to-face meeting, but someone will ring me in the morning for a chat on the phone to see if there is anything they can offer me in the way up updating my admin qualifications or improving my interview technique. They could have helped me a lot more last month if they had given me the admin job I went for. 4 of us invited to interview, two of us turned up, I got the highest score in the test, and I didn't get the job. It really doesn't do your self-worth any good.

Now is when I need to weigh less more than ever. I don't know if my weight has made a difference to any of the interviews I have had, no one would say if it was, but weighing less would improve my confidence anyway.
